I use the contact cleaner from Jaycar with no problems
they are just an alcohol based I think

Dont waist your money on buying MAF cleaner - just but contact cleaner from an electrical store like jaycar - its exactly whats required to clean the maf and dries quickly and leave no residue.

Well, chemically its exactly the same product, but a few bucks more because they officially call it MAF cleaner. I guess the marketing works, but not on me - I know exactly what goes in to both, and thees no difference. Its all contact cleaner. Its not made for purpose, its all in the marketing. I had a check of the sds for both maf cleaner and contact cleaner. They both have completely different ingredients. But that's not to say that one does a better job than the other.
Safety data sheets are readily available to check online btw.
Actually thinking If these cleaners are any good any way.
If you think about it, its a hot wire system where a small wire gets red hot.
You would think any contaminates like oil residue, dust, dirt and anything else that might flow through it would BAKE onto the wire.
Wouldn't oven cleaner work better???lol
I'm not sure if these cleaners would actually do a 100% job.
How about a cotton bud with a bit of this shit and try cleaning it ..carefully of course !
I reckon this might work better???
