Amy's family went there last year and I saw the photos and remember there being a bush pub called the Hilton...

Roofy has it, & yes you are correct Bob. If I remember correctly the pub & the ‘’Hilton Hotel’ across the road are the only two buildings between Boulia & Winton, about 150kms from each on the Kennedy Development Rd. The owner was a chopper pilot, his dad ran the pub & the pilot parked his chopper out the back & ‘commuted’ to work. He was just leaving to do some mustering on a station out Mt Isa way when we were there.

Lake Tari Karng from Echo Point?

Yep that was easy. Lake Tali Karng from the Sentinels. You can drive to about 300 meters from the lookout over Mt Wellington, but have to walk into the lake.

Where is this and why do people usually go there?

Close enough, most call it "Head of the bight", and whale watching is the main attraction.
