Can see the point, however the gasket is a surface seal, clamped with uniform pressure - or it should be if the thing is torqued correctly, so in theory, the pitting would be covered unless it goes to the edges of the hole and you have a channel from inside to outside, then a liquid seal would be better. Solid gaskets are not designed to deform as such, more cater for surface roughness values at best - I know sounds contradictory, but they will deform on a smallish level, not fill up depressions.Quote:
