Gunna be just a tad bigger mate. Until you find it too small and want to extend...

How are mate? Long time no speak.
Yeah we've done a little bit. We added roughly another third onto the house with the extension. I still have laundry and bathroom to do upstairs, plus re floor the hallway and staircase. Then fix up the rumpus downstairs, needs a ceiling and lights. Outside is paving and pool fence as you can see, also change out the windows in the back of the house to timber and then render the back, build an outdoor kitchen etc etc.
Then!!! for the front of the house, change out all the windows aswell, remove the balcony and re do it, make the double garage with two single rollers doors, and a brick pillar in between, to one single door, put a new roller door on the new garage next to it and also render the front. There's more but thats all I can think of whats on my list right now. Lol. Im busy for the next 10 years atleast.
As for the Patrol, yeah still enjoying it mate. I'd love a new one but thats out of reach so I'm stuck with the old GUrl. She needs a new gearbox though, 3rd to 4th under power she crunches real bad, to the point its like Im not using the clutch, plus its done around 450thou so its time. Just gotta justify the cost to the minister of war and finance first. Lol.
Finally finished the boxes today. Took me all day but with a stuffed back I need to take my time at it. Tomorrow I’ll get some plants and mulch.
It’s not perfect, I’m no wiz when it comes to stuff like this, there is some things that are not quite right but it’s as good as I can get it. I’m reasonably happy with the outcome. Some plants will hide the imperfections I am hoping. [emoji38]

Scored a heap of wood, there's 2 more loads to get. It was all out on Friday.
You blokes that do this regularly when is it best to split it, now or later and some of them are 400mm wide, something that my 10+ year old $100 eBay cheapie chainsaw won't handle. Was going to hire a splitter what size should I be looking at.
There's a few that are thin (pictured with tape) what's the best/easiest way to split these ones..
Thanks in advance...http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2022/03/20.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2022/03/21.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2022/03/22.jpg

Yeah split it now while it's green, don't worry about a hydraulic splitter for that load, you'll have it done in no time by hand.
Just split around the edges and work your way around each piece.

Even still you'll be done in under 2 hours doing it by hand, I get 5 trailer loads like this every year and if I wasn't given a hydraulic splitter for free I would still be doing it by hand.

More asking because it looks like a conifer? Not ideal for burning because of lots of creosote fyi. If you have Android download plantnet, it will identify he wood for you via the bark and you can tell if it's any good for burning. You might not really want the second two trailer loads.
Scratch that I just did it, looks like it's probably oak. That's a good wood for burning [emoji16]

Big day taking advantage of the few good weather days we have here. Battened the roof almost completely, packed one side, installed guttering, completed a quirky end of the shed that isn't square(slab isn't square). I should be able to get the roof installed tomorrow, had the sheets delivered for them yesterday. So stoked at the progress, not too far from finishing the exterior now I think!Attachment 85226Attachment 85227

Looking great Nicco. Are you going to clad the walls with weather boards? Will come up great mate. Will done
Sent from my SM-G977B using Tapatalk
How have you braced that thing nicco? I can't see anything but sure you're all over it.
The walls do you mean? It's jammed tight inbetween a retaining wall and a handrail(3x100x200 posts) and the trusses hold the walls plumb. The are diagonal braces in the roof the hold it level and the tophats used as bearers are spacing the trusses correctly.

Bloody awesome Nicko absolute machine. . Love how it's built over the old one, how did you do the floors so they match up or slab over top of old one??
Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk
Everything from the old shed will move once it's weatherproof. At the moment it's just away from the edges where it was most likely to leak. Once it's fully sealed I'll start moving the benches. Going to be a process but I'll get there. Re floors the slab was originally poured at around 4x11(11m was max width for the space and I came out 4m from the garage next door) only one end is square hence the hip at one end. The old shed was just a pre-made second hand jobbie, The new shed is made to completely take up the slab, no need to change flooring [emoji16]

Ooi do you mean hoop iron or something similar? Daz mentioned the same but it really can't move anywhere I want able to square the walls up, just built them level off the top retaining wall, then jammed the last frame in. I can't see it being able to shift left or right and the roof trusses hold the ins and outs. I mean at the end of the day, it's a shed, made from f14 grade timber, it's ridiculously overkill lol. Should be fine. I appreciate the mention though. The external cladding will hold the walls, but the internal walls will be fixed with 16mm ply also, once both sides are fixed on I don't think anything will move anywhere.

FWIW: Not sure the Good Ol Boys in the Northern US of A even know what hooping iron is, all domestic structures throughout say Minnesota gales are stabilised via what we call Ply Board externally & internally [emoji123][emoji123][emoji106][emoji106]
