I climbed on the back of a giant albatross which flew through a crack in the cloud to a place where happiness reigned all year round where music played ever so loudly
Did you buy the albatross

Repco sale finished Sunday. More tools 😄
a newspaper
Sunday a young local bloke contacted me re guard liner, off to have a look.
Came away with two good uncut guards and a bonnet in better order than current one, and of course 2 excellent guard liners.
Most pleased!
I didnt buy a can opener thats for bloody sure!
I bought this http://patrolapart.com.au/product/ge...-all-gu-models
Brought some of these connectors so now I have a weatherproof join
and I'm able to service different 12v items, on my camper and Patrol
Now there's a thing...
I have always wondered what the purpose is of pre-assembled Weatherproof Connector that has to have the equipment wires crimped/spliced/whatever in about 2 inches away from the connector.
That now means you have 3 connections where you only need 1 (splice to connection to splice instead of just a connection)
Wouldn't you be better off buying the Weatherproof Connector and just assemble it with the original equipment wires ?
way too fiddly fo my eyes a good soldered joint with some heat shrink should work.
New tensioner for the gu..
And belt..
Going to rebuild the old one..
Ordered a new RH CV and wheel bearings yesty. Hopefully they should be there today for pickup so I can put it all back together.
When will you be doing them once they arrive Mark? Would love to see how it's done.

Years ago I helped a fellow sparky wire a flash boat, real flash it was. We had insulated crimp connectors you know the red, blue and yellow ones.
But, they were grease filled with a seal that the cable was pushed through into the connector then crimped.
Were supposed to be waterproof and corrosion resistant.
Can they still be sourced?
Standard and mil spec duetsch plugs are the go. Can you source these winnie?
We use these connectors that are filled with solder and glue filled heatshrink, just use a heat gun and it solders and heat shrinks in 1 go. We have these specifically for PE's inside a saw unit which is subjected to constant vibration, saw shavings and coolant. It been years since we have had an issue with them.
On another note. I'm guessing you sponser a certain big green GQ at tuff trucks???
That would be Dan & John in SkidMark, didn't sponsor them personally but our club did with 4 other TT also entered from our members

You can get crimps (red, blue & yellow) with hot melt glue filled heat shrink sleeves that work quite well.
Raychem Eviro splices are great, a crimp sleeve then a heat shrink sleeve with hot melt glue rings at each end, best for teflon insulated wire as they need to get too hot for PVC insulation.

After hearing all those horror stories on bad fuel, just bought a Racor 445 with 2 micron filters to put prior to OEM filter.
Now I need to figure out where to install this though...!
Telstra use small wire connectors that you just place
the wire end in the connector and push to break the gell
No good on the bigger jobs though
