Who won the fight is not important. And generally, neither is the reason for which it started.
If we must fight, the first question to ask is not 'why?'. It is 'for what?'.

My old man was a bit of a hard nut, professional rugby league player, 3 times QLD champion in Judo (twice Australian runner up), and 47 bouts as a listed boxer - and he always told me:
1. Never fear the man you're fighting, fear the woman you just turned your back on.
2. Whether you lost the race by an inch or a hundred yards, the fact is, you still lost the race.
3. Further to point 2 - Coming second is the first of the losers.

Sometimes I reflect back on all the beer I have drunk, and I feel ashamed. Then I look into my glass and think of all the workers in the brewery, and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink beer, they may be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself "it is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true, than to be selfish and worry about my liver".
