I bought the Bear Grylls ultimate survival knife the full tang version with a voucher I got from work. I watched a review on YouTube and it performed really really well
As most know, have had a bit of a rough run recently so I decided to bugger it and bought a new toy.
A S&W Extreme Ops folder with skeletal frame. Light, sturdy, comfy grip with nice sized blade and friggen sharp straight of the box.

Have done it again, wifey is gonna kill me lolol.
My new bad boy I ordered last night and is on its way.
Thats nice OD why not shout yourself a gift, its been a while since you had good news
Cheers TD, looking forward to having it in my grubby mits. Also intrigued to see what the leather sheath is like, it looks pretty good from the pics.
Have to admit, it is a different style with the jigging on each side if the spine which attracted me to it in the 1st place. It looks fairly hefty as well, never know but it may become my new camp knife.
Is that a 5" blade,,,,, bloody solid looking
I would have thought it would have a molle style sheath oh well
you sure thats a leather sheath looks like that material from the "Golden spike"
Here is the link for it.

Go suck dogs balls forum runner
That looks like it'll take a hit very well.
Need to start looking for my lost knives
as of tomorrow, yeah right
You can add more than 1 photo at a time with forum runner, I use it all the time. I have the other version of you knife Growler, the baby LMF II version. The new knife just got delivered and is far better than the pictures show. It is my new favourite general purpose camping / bush knife. That and the Elite Tactical chopper I got for Xmas, will make a top combo. It is super sharp, sturdy and super comfy to hold. Has great weight to it without being to heavy and will chop with no problems at all. The sheath to my surprise, is very well made, sturdy and decent leather. Just needs a light dampen at the top to mould the shape of the finger guard otherwise it will cut through the leather top and fastening strap.
Thats one tough looking unit, its all business
Eh go figure found a couple of my knives.
I locked them in my cupboard, now just to figure out where the rest are
Hahaha, yah dufus.
At least you found some of them. Maybe you put them in their for safe keeping so wifey doesn't get them when you piss her off lolol lolol.
Got no luck at hiding mine from wifey, house isn't big enough lol. Maybe I could hide them at Gecko's but then I get in the crap again from his wifey for tempting him to buy more knives.....bwahahahahaha
really need to have a decent look,
mainly want my homemade Seki city with sheep horn scales to show up somewhere
Cheap piece of red gum to mount some knives on. pity its too far away

As soon as I load more than 1 photo the c### freezes and needs to be re booted. I HATE forum runner with a passion
EDIT: Nice blade
Cheers Growler, I must finally be lucky to have an app on crapdroid that actually works for once lol
@ Growler... great looking knife! and alot bigger seeing it in you hand. (unless you have girlie hands... :D) I don't think you will be disapointed with that blade.
@ OD... mate, you're farked! I love that blade and is one of the reasons I want my own C&C machine! As soon as I get another job, that knife is top of my purchase list! (and I'm blaming you too.)
@ GKO what you need is a secret room or maybe a secret drawer in the Patrol lol
Cheeky farker lolol, its ok cuz wifey blames you for telling me about the collectors zone at clarkson....bwahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahaha
BTW it is a gooood knife, payback for the tanto chopper you got recently.....muah
We would be able to come up with some sweet gear when you get the CNC machine.
Let us know when you get back so I can knock up the templates for you to make up the sheath vice presses, will be able to knock out some good wet moulded sheathes then :)
coming from a rag trade back ground would you stamp out a shape in the leather with the template being knife like on the bottom ,
cutting say 6 at a time
No idea about using leather on a CNC machine, have never used 1 before.
I still need to email you the paper templates to get made into the plastic versions, will make things heaps easier to cut out
Yeah thats ok ,,,,boy Im happy I found those knives so the others cant be far away "hopefully"
I dont think they took a walk TBH
Just wait 'til you see that freakin Tanto! It is a beast...
Not sure when I am gonna be home. Have just been asked if I can stay until the end of March but don't think the project will last that long so will see. At least I should be home for Easter. Unless I get another job that wants me to start asap....Meh, what's 3 months away from home.... :(

Time to start looking again, this might match the mighty "bumble bee" I have from M-tech
I quite like it, I have a knife with the same handle scales and is comfy which was a surprise. Nice shape blade for general work and sheath looks alright as well
was just looking at some of the Colubia and San-Jia knives but I cant bring myself to push the button
because of those crap nylon sheaths they come with, really lets a knife down IMO
OK here is the Deal! just getting into Hunting, was at a Gun show on the weekend and looking at Knives for the first time really. I am looking for 1 knife only. Bet knife for hunting. Interested in your recommendations guys. Rabbits through to Deer.
Links would be appreciated too. I am advised to find a short blade round with the best edge possible. Keen.
any clip point,,,, pictured are a knife Ron moon has and the other is one Janderson has
both Schrade blades are 5" long each
For a folder you cant go past a BUCK 110 3.75 " blade
Are you looking for a general purpose knife or 1 just for skinning?
Have you already been given some ideas from the show at all or have your eye on any in particular?
I'll put pics if you see something you like all the better.
Did you run into Simon and his Kysler contacts
Yeah i thought i wanted the ones in the right pic John but clearly from the discussions i had with a number of Knife guys at the show i am now looking at the ones in the Left pic.
No i have not spoken to Simon, he has a bit on his plate at the moment.
It will come down to personal choice and what you feel comfortable holding / using.
If you are leaning towards 1 of the 1's in the left pic, personally I would choice either bottom left (brass bolsters, easy to clean and maintain) or in the same pic the 3rd on the right, the Browning upswept skinner (I have 1 of these also and super sharp and great little knife).
Some gut hooks are a right pain in the butt to use as generally they aren't shaped properly such as angles and size, making it harder to use hence the suggestions made.
Same as TD and Gecko, I have several knives that I can choose from depending on what's needed at the time, smaller knives for small game and then bigger versions for larger game.
I tried to use a small upswept skinner doing a roo a few times, whilst it did it's job, it took a lot longer to dress and ended up changing to a larger knife to finish it off so I usually have 2-3 knives in my shooting bag and sometimes a larger knife on the belt as well.
