Ok so you mean: course, medium then low grit cutting compound?
. Apply course then buff off, medium then buff off low then buff off then a good quality polish and buff off?

Yup.... Give it a go
Obviously you start with the least amount of cutting you think you'd need but looks like it needs a bit of work. So start coarse if it comes up all alright you might be able to skip medium
Or if you just wanted to test it out
Meguiars ultimate compound followed by ultimate polish. See what it comes up like you might be happy enough not to do any more
I've got these. Any good?http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...016/02/241.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...016/02/242.jpg

Yo Lucas I filled in a scratch with a clear pen but it needs sanding back.
I have a hi density foam sanding block, just go slowly with some 1500/2000
then polish ???
Is there anything you can do when it is just old as per the photo to protect it from getting worse? Can it be made to look any better. I can't afford a respray. This isn't every where but obviously worse on the bonnet.
