Well I ordered it last Wednesday, gave credit card details and they said yep, got one instock, we will email an invoice just check the address and let us no. It came to Monday this week. No email. I called them. They sent an email. I replied with fixed details. A day later. I call again because of no reply. Wednesday I get "yep all good, its boxed and ready to go when we recieve payment". Wtf. I already gave my details.
So after an email Wednesday night saying that if they couldn't find my details id already given as far as im concerned the transaction was finished. They called yesterday and very apologetic. I gave them some stick. Is this how you treat ever customer?
Should be here next week.
Now this drain makes me much happier.

Finally got around to the fitting in the sump. I impressed myself for someone who hasn't brazed in probably 5 years. Full steam ahead.

There was an incident last weekend and as such the car needs repairs. Waiting on insurance to get in touch.
Bonnet clearance is going to be an issue.

Believe it or not mate it probably wont be. The 1200hp frozen boost core I recently fitted to a gu in a cradle style bracket has plenty of room and it sits 50mm or so above the rocker cover. The brackets were made to suit and allowances made for one bonnet rib and the windscreen washer nozzle hoses.
She looks ready to go in mate when will we see it in your car? Im excited to see this run.
Just minor stuff left. Was penciled in to convert next weekend, but im now still waiting on insurance to settle so I can repair my rear doors before I do it all.
Im excited too. Very much so.
Pretty much right to drop in the hole now. Still waiting on slow arse insurance to settle my claim then I can move ahead.

Looking good mate. Did you ceramic coat the intake manifold or is it just painted?
Its just high temp paint. The can did say "with ceramic". I reckon it looks pretty sweet. Will modify the manifold one day.
Well its so close now I can taste it. Engines right to rock, air box, twin senders, new fuel primer/filter is all sitting here, snorkel and fuel changeover solonoid have been ordered, just need to grab a few gauges and its go time.

Very nice! Don't forget to video the first start up. Looking forward.
Well with insurance cash settling a bit over 3k. Im seriously considering parting this one and getting into a cleaner gq for no financial outlay. Watch this space.
Finally found some doors my colour. Diesel goes in next week. Excited.

Hi Dales300exc,
Can you please tell me, when you rebuilt the engine, if you noticed if the old and new pistons and the rods all weighed the same.
I am interested to know if Nissan balances their engines. Both diesel and petrol. Its about performance.
Thanks,
Neil.
I didn't weigh them sorry. The guy who did all the machine work balanced my engine both rotating and reciprocating masses.
Hi Dales300exc,
Do you know if the guy who did the machine work have to take much off to balance it all out.
Neil.
I will ask the question when I see him next.
Vehicle is stripped and ready to install the diesel loom and get the wheels really in motion. Then setup the twin tanks, dash back in etc. Kickin goals.
Mounts for cooler heat exchanger fabbed up, new headlights and globes, looms all out, bay is pretty much clear, fuel tanks are out and have new pickups so are ready to go back in. Got a heap of new switches and relays to tidy everything up. TD bellhousing is on. Happy with the progress and certainly have a big weekend ahead of me.
Looking good mate
Full day under the belt. Going well.
Did we see smoke today?
Nope :(. Underestimated the giant pain in the arse that is setting up twin tanks. Not far off, just trying to find time. Its booked for exhaust next Tuesday. Will get stuck into it Wednesday after work and probably tomorrow before work. Just little shit.
Got in early and finished the tanks off. Just small wiring jobs and engine bay fuel lines to finish up. Hopefully fire it up tomorrow evening.
Couple of photos of the vacuum setup, filter, intake piping and stoked with how much more ground clearance I have with the stock tank over the gas tank.
Hey mate, do you mind but how much was that airbox? And do you have more photos of it?
Fatz fabrication item and will probably set you back around the 600 mark.
Yeeeeeeep. Fatz fabrication. $660 including gst. Only have a couple of closed photos. They have more on their website I think.
It lives it lives it lives!!!! Stoked! Sounds sweet. Great oil pressure. No leaks. Boomting. Ill upload a small clip later.
:clapping::groupwave::driving2::smiley_thumbs_up:: cheers:
:useless:
I'm a bit late on this thread but the main reason in my opinion is the restriction around the filter.
Every time I checked the filter, especially up in the Simpson was the thick dust circle from the snorkel side, rest of the filter brand new, very restrictive and wish I knew this before hand!
Few vids, ignore that old fella haha, was just my eyes to bleed it up and hands to cut the fuel cut wire if need be.

Should be on the road by tomorrow evening. Ironing out some loom differences and wiring up all accessories still to do. But its all looking good to make it to the exhaust joint Tuesday and if that goes well ill book it for a/c pipes Wednesday. Can't wait to drive it, sounds AMAZING!
If you are really excited put a towel down on the drivers seat..... you may have a bit of wee come out
I think wee is a high possibility. God dam it sounds horn at 3k out the dump. Yum yum.
