Mine.
With roof bars and 2"lift and standard tyres:
1) 17L/100km combined (70%city 30% highway) on 98 unleaded
2) 22.5L/100km combined (as per above) on gas
Now with 33" MT ATZ 4Rib
1) 18.5L/100km combined on 98
2) 24L/100km on gas
Hope this helps.
I have a 90L gas tank and a 60L petrol tank.
So I guess that equates to 375km's on gas and 325km's on 98RON.
With Larger Tyres your Consumption would be different due to the difference in ground covered by one revolution of your larger wheel and the fact that your Speedo would not take this into account.Quote:

Agreed - lifting the vehicle generally gives more forward facing surface area of underbody components and would increase the drag effect on wind traveling beneath the vehicle - that said, having a GQ is like putting a besser block on wheels aerodynamically speaking, so as per ET's comments, outside of strict testing environments, it would be extremely difficult to measure actual increases in consumption.Quote:

I've got a 99 GU 4.5L on gas, arb bull bar, snorkel, scrub bar, draw system and roof rack running 31" AT's around the town and normally average 29L/100km on gas and 22L/100km on petrol. Sounds ball pack with other 4.5L gas users. Has anyone got any tips on inproving fuel economy - short of; maintaing tyre pressure and reducing the weight of the vehicle?

Roofy and Katrol are about the same.
With your 33" Tyres is your Speedo correct because putting on larger tyres you are actually covering more distance than your Speedo is saying and will affect Fuel Usuage
How long has your Patrol had a tune. Mine is tuned more for Gas Use and therefore one of the reasons better Gas consumption than yours
91 GQ TD42, GT2871 turbo running 18psi, 3" exh, pump timing advanced & fuel turned up 6" lift running 35's. Around town driving all different ways i.e normal mixed with giving it a hard time 14ltr/100klm or 20.18mpg. I'm off to QLD to visit relo's over Easter so I'll get back with some figures for the trip as it'll be it's first trip since turbo & 35's being fitted.

Figures from yesterday - 15.3 lph on petrol and 18.9 lph on gas!! Stoked with those numbers!! This is the same vehicle that was struggling to crack 23-24 lph on petrol when I got it and 25-26 lph on gas!! Persistence and proper tuning through someone who knows what they are doing (Derek, not me!! LOL!!) is worth every penny. Average price for 95 unleaded is now around $1.40 up here, so that equates to at least $11.20 per hundred klms cheaper on petrol - considering I do about half half between the two and do about 25000 klms per year, that's a saving of at least $1400 per year just on petrol!!!
Hello, My Patorl 2,8 TDI `94 is consume 13 l/100km.
Hiya, around town my TB45S with manual tranny gives between 25-27l/100km. Out of town things improve somewhat with figures of 18-20l/100km! Tyres currently 235/85R16s, equivalent roughly to 32".
Done my trip & got 13l/100klm on the way up not sparing the horses either. Towed a 7x4 off road box trailer back that I'd bought whilst up there & got 14l/100klm on the return trip also not sparing the horses. Might have to drive miss daisy on the next trip & see what the figures are then.

Well we did 203 klms and it used 18L on the highway, tried it coming back and it was 203 klms and 20L but we hit some decent traffic coming back, aircon on both trips. Towed the camper weekend after that and recorded 550 klms out of 73L. Camper weighs a tad over 1000kgs.
Good figures there also ... ahhh, but alas, I will continue to try to get whatever I can out of my year old petrol engine ... LOLQuote:
