Yeah cool.
Do you want to just send it to me and I'll swing you some beers next time or something?

I can drop it up next week if that works.
Yeah no worries I'll drop it off next Friday, check out the new Moe pad!! Haha. What time you back from work? ?
Should be home about 5.30
That's Newborough to you Mr. Smarty Pants
Having issues with this last stud on the exhaust manifold to turbo. It's seized good!
It's been stripped in a previous life so the double nut trick is not working.
Next step I guess is to grind two edges. Ran out of time tonight!
Any other ideas?
It's been soaked with wd40 all last week.
LOL... Stripped in a Previous life he says! Go and read page 1 of this build thread mate, this was a 1 Owner, Grandpa Spec, Spotless example of a GQ, then you took it home!! I reckon that "Previous life" might have been on your watch mate ;)
Just say'n
:eck05:
Can you get an impact driver in there mate?
Heat.......
Yeah grind two flat bits or weld a nut to it - probly better option. Could be a good one to try that freeze & release. . . Some things are never meant to be easy ! ! . . .
Lol! Mate I just read the first 400 posts in this build thread, I kept reading until the turbo was well and truly fitted. By the time I got to 400 I was thinking you led me a stray!
Have faith though bud I found a few great posts that I had not thanked so dealt with that while I was trolling.
I remember when the HT18 was enough! Now look at ya!! You've changed!
Cheers fellas, I'll give it a crack on the weekend.
Had another win, confirmed the ht18 water lines I had custom made are m14 1.5, exactly the same as Borgwarner.
That's a huge win to make things easier!
Hallelujah!!!!
Forgot to mention, used the freeze and release can as well.
Good job bloke
Yeah but you won :p
Yeah they were pretty tight. Think we were lucky must of been getting pretty close to that front stud snapping, pretty crazy how much force was going through that little thing, it was twisting the whole motor!!
Just waiting on one more part and I can bolt everything up!
Made up a new support for the fatz airbox to raise it up another 10mm for better clearance of the 4" pipe to turbo and also to allow the aux battery tray to fit because the oem bottom support angle bracket is in the way of the aux tray.
Been a challenging task but it's all ready to bolt up!
Pirtek are awesome! Managed to keep most the original oil water lines, just made up new fittings to suit Borgwarner.
This is coming along awesome Andy, can't wait for you to take me for a spin to see the difference.
(I still have not taken the airbox out of my car since I picked it up)
Raising it sounds good. Please take lots of photos when it goes back in. Lol.
I'll catch up with Rossco, cheers for that.
Finally got time to jump back on the gq.
Turbo finally bolted up!
It's a tight fit, slight panel beating to fit the wastegate in.
Just need some more 4" clamps, m8 studs, T piece and hose for the recirculation valve, oil drain fitting and I think I'm ready to connect everything up...Yay!
Huge progress mate, awesome job!
FAR Out man!!
Shoulda just bought a CRD and been done with it:thumbup:
