Check the housing - sounds like crap is getting in there from somewhere other than the snorkel .. strange to have it twice in a couple of months.

I had that light come on under hard acceleration only and replacing the air filter fixed the problem. I don't have a snorkel just the original setup.

From the Nissan Patrol owners manual.

Air Cleaner indicator light ( For Australia )

This light comes on when the ignition key is in the "ON" position and the air cleaner filter is clogged.

Have the air cleaner filter checked as soon as possible.

Will give it a go.
