Out of interest you can only place these in certain places
is that right, does it restrict where you place it.
Just thinking hot exhaust will cause it to fail, where do you place it ??
under a side step and lift whole side of 4x4 up, ok in flat terrain.
Everyone swears by them , I'm with the jury and out on this one
They come with a sheet to put on the top and bottom
I put mine anywhere except directly on a hot exhaust... the pressure is spread over such a wide area it just moulds itself to the shape sorta.
Same principle as airing down

Yeah does look pretty beastly! I've often wondered, when you buy something like this how do you get it roadworthy for transfer? I assume you have to put in some effort to temporarily put some stock suspension in, etc. until swapped across, then swap back and take the risk of getting pinged? This new one is certainly a cut above the rest but I've only been for a drive around the block so far to see the clarity. There's a program that you download to your pc that shows the video plus live view of where you are on Google maps and also a G-force meter.
If your in an accident it will jump into accident mode which logs the video into a different folder so it won't be overwritten accidentally.
For the money its certainly worth it.

Not really a buy but a swap, a bloke from around the local area had his ZD30 Di let go (bang) and went a TD42 conversion, seen a post from him that he wanted to swap a near new Turbo (still under warranty) for some series 3 rear tail lights, well just so happened that I had a set siting in the shed after replacing them with working ones, a couple messages later and he was on his way over to pick them up, swap was done, he was happy and I had a near new turbo for ZD30 Di in my hands with only 15 tho on it and still under warranty, not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but somehow think it is better than having the set of tail lights sitting in the shed that I was never going to use.
Bloody hell that's a good swap!

Finally bought the pyro gauge and ordered a new inter cooler from diesel smart.
Hope you bought some decent spring load T bolt clamps for those hose John. I had silicone hoses on mine and had issues of blowing off the hoses. Even with the big clamps. So I went back to rubber.. The issue is with the silicone hoses sold these days is they are rubbish, especially with their "stab in the dark" burst pressures they give. And with silicone, the slightest smear of oil in them makes them very slippery. Much worse than rubber. I bought new Gates rubber IC hoses and gawd they were tight to put on, so i wont have to worry about them slipping off in a hurry. The only hose I didn't replace was the top rear IC inlet hose as it was straight and I had some well made American FLexfab hose here to use.Quote:
