Well, hopefully my front tube bar is ready today as I just organised a new winch/28 metre plasma rope to go on it, but the big news - Supercharger goes in next Wednesday (takes a couple of days, so won't have it back until the weekend). It won't kill the engine (just yet) and I figure I will have that much more usable power in the meantime anyway .. rebuild can wait a few months ..
Tank is getting a lot of love!! Time for the kids to song for their supper again!! lmao
Mate are you tryin to make me feel jealous cause ur doin a FINE job of it. How bloody EXCITEMENT!!!!
Cant wait to see this tube bar mate, should look s#!t hot... And supercharger?? That will be tough as when all finished lol
Fingers crossed brother!! Apparently should be ready ... tomorrow ... but that was said yesterday also, so not getting my hopes up just yet ..
The SC will be awesome - figure I'll run it in with the engine as is, and if it starts playing up, I'll rebuild it down the track ... at least I get that power in the meantime!!!
Well, here tis - the new front bar - not the best shots as it only just went on and it's dark, but you'll get the idea - I'll take some more tomorrow. Certainly opens up the approach angle, and quite simply put, I love it!! Toughens the front end up a bit as well ...

Yeah your right mate, it is a bit hard to see?......Daytime pics are in oder me thinks???...........lol
Very nice Scotty, I like it!
Mate, pretty serious set up with the spotties too, you'll start bushfires with those puppies...LMAO
Scotty, I haven't kept up with this mammoth thread but have a think about making those spotties vandal proof if you haven't done so, I would hate for someone to steal those.
Using cable to the bar work, grinding the bolt threads down, etc
looks good in the dark mate gotta be awesome in daylight .........what did that bar set u back ???
Some day time snaps - bit easier to see!! lol

Got the taller centre hoop so I can put some guides on the bottom side of it to wrap the plasma rope around from the winch - figured once it's used, I'll just wrap it around the guides until I get back home to clean it - protects the front edge of the bonnet also. The side hoops are pushed around the back a bit from standard also to give added side protection to the indicators etc .. pretty happy with it all in all ... now for sliders!!!! lmao
Mal is going to have a look at trying to do a full bash plate for the front also which will clean up the look from the front and protect the steering arm etc also.
It looks tough as Scotty & with the bash plate done it'll be strong too...... Love the side hoops you had added,,,Much better with them on IMO
Your getting my mod bug going again.... all I need to do now is make some bloody money.......lolol
Haha ... glad it's inspiring you also mate!!! Thanks for the wrap - I love it, and as said, it'll toughen up with a black checkerplate bash plate ...
I'm on the saving path again now also ... the winch is $895 (Tiger 12000 pound with 28 metre plasma rope and hook) and it's just out of my reach ... need some overtime!! lmao
Mmmmm will wait till the bash plates go on,probably better in the flesh but seems to open to me
Nope, no better in the flesh - it's REAL open!!!! lmao ...
The bash plate will clean that up a bit, but for what I do, I had to start looking at getting better approach angles and a bar that doesn't bend everytime I hit something (which is often as dhuck and crew can vouch for!! lol).
looks Good in the daylight aswell mate Nice addition
FANFLAMMINTASTIC
your rig is starting to look like something outta mad max
way to go nothing to stop your front end approch now
lord help the bush now hahahahahahaha
how much lift have you got 4 inches or higher just looks so much taller with that front bar
Hahaha ... Thanks old mate!!! Yep, 4" lift and now there is so much tyre showing, it looks a bit dinky from the front, so once the sliders are on, I'll be hunting down a set of Mickey Thompson 305/75 MTZ's to throw on it!!! And it started out (750 odd posts ago) as such a nice family rig!!!! lmao ...
I know you're all sick of hearing about the truck (ahem), but I actually sized up a set of 5" Dobinson springs and long travel Tough Dog shocks today (will need the radius arms and rear upper control arm done also to accommodate this) .... where does it end????!!!!! lol
where does it end????!!!!! lol
when the cook cuts up your credit card hahahahah
Scotty Scotty Scotty..................IT LOOKS THE BOMB [that's good] MATE, LOOKS TUFF, LOVE IT. Now it just needs a lightbar on the roof...lol.
Sorry Scotty...........I don't like you anymore *LMAO*.................nice work your doing on TANK, Would love 2 add a super charger 2 mine :) very jealous i am...
P.s: did i mention u su!k
Does it make you feel better to know I'm not getting the super charger?? lol ... it's off the list as they don't do a kit for it ...
Would it worsen the relationship though if I told you I was getting an LS2 V8 instead?? lmao!! But that's a pipe dream at the moment old mate .. I'm blurring reality with desire at the moment!!
It will happen if I hold onto the dream ... just don't know when!!!!
Surely sum1 has supercharged.....mmmmm V8, I still miss my old Holden HZ Premmy it was only a tock standard 308, but i loved it :)
You will get there mate, and I'm looking forward 2 seeing pics and a write up when it happens :)
Thanks champion - would have thought it possible also, but trust me, I've hunted the bejeezers out of it, and nothing ... that said, super charge and get 200kw's versus new motor and get 300kw's for about 20% more cost and I know which way I'll be heading ... sort of took the decision out of my hands, but thankfully so! lol
He goin bigger but a little softer, He getting more serious about what he wants to do.
Because I'm a d!ckhead who's never happy with what's he's got!!!!! lmao ...
Nah, the rise is fairly rigid, and even though it flexes ok, I figure if I'm looking at swapping springs and shocks, I may as well go another inch ... that will definitely end it though, not going 6" ...
You would not even make 6 with a brick on the end. rofl
