Another write off

Sorry to read about this mate, bloody sickens me...........its about time this country woke up and made fully comprehensive insurance compulsory, no ifs or buts.

As MR said, if your accessories aren't listed on your policy, I'd be getting them off quick smart mate and bolt them on to your new rig.

Anyhow any advice would be greatly appreciated, and I will soon have many parts available( including a perfectly good strong engine and auto trans)lol

If extras not listed on policy they are yours not there's.
And viceaverca,
A mate of mine rolled his 4x4 a number of years ago with extras listed on his policy, he removed them prior to making the claim but had to reinstall before they would pay him out,

I would remove as many accessories that aren't affected by the crash, but don't leave it on it's hubs with no wheels, and then let the insurance company sort out the rest.

Depends on the assessor when we remote off one of our work vans a few years ago the assessor valued it at my place we agreed on the price the he told me to remove anything I wanted to keep including items that were listed on the policy

I know a guy that wrote off his shorty. Called it undrivable even though he drove out of the bush. He took the front and rear diff centers and Lockers out of it! It went away on a flat bed anyway.!!

yep pull yopur goodie off it - I did when my MK was written off - as the goodies where not covered.

Not sure about the diff centres though - its a lot of work to pull. and as there part of the drive line it might be an issue - is the truck still at your place - it might be worth while pulling them and putting any old crappy item in

That was the case with my write-off a week or so ago. Assessor asked me to return the third row seats, spare key and owners books to the vehicle, and while I was at it take any personal effects not noted on the policy (his words, more or less!). So I pulled the pyro probe, HIDs and Narva wiring loom, UHF aerial and wiring (gauges and UHF were off the car), recovery points, Rola roof racks... if I'd had more time I'd have pulled the turbo timer and Parrot bluetooth out, and maybe with a mates help grabbed the four Superior rear suspension arms.

The dual lockers and Steinbauer chip were listed on the policy, which was stupid, as it was a 'market value' policy... lesson learned for next time.

Sorry to hear of your loss Scotty, hope you are physically ok... it will take one to three weeks before all the physical trauma of the crash really comes through and due to the impact concussion you will likely be unexpectedly tired at times too - so be careful with driving and any physical activity.
