yes Yendor, as it's going to 39'C today in melborne , pass weeks I have been running the rear air-con and found the air- con really cold than normual , the reason I'm doing this some1 mention about over gassed regards AlexQuote:

On the 4.5 the fuel filter is in the engine bay on the drivers side more or less under the battery
No it was underbody near transfor case , changed it over and yes it was dirty as regards AlexQuote:

I still think your A/C cutting out on hot days is/was due to a cooling system fault and the ECU was switching the A/C off because the cooling system temperature was getting too high.
Possible due to the thermostat being stuck open and allowing coolant to pass to quickly through the radiator, not giving it enough time to cool down the coolant?????..... maybe?
Hi Yendor, Hot day the other day , didn't cut out, so think must of been the thermostat stuck open , all good thanks Alex
