Good to hear rear bar is coming along nicely mate, not long now till its all finished Haha
and pull ur lume outa the way or you WILL cut it more so the drivers side. Also it would be alot easier to drill a hole in the side of the inner guard to pull the lume back through before you weld the bases on. and remember most importantly dont F!@K it up hahahahahahahahahaha:blowup:
Hey Gav
Going to cut the cow catchers off tomorrow ... just them though, the rest is a joint effort! And by 'joint effort' I mean you!!! LOL ... just thought there is no reason they can't go whilst I'm in the cutting mode!!
Well, spontaneity is the spice of life apparently ... soooo ... Whilst waiting for the rig today at the auto sparky, I ventured into Redlands 4WD to see what 'toys' I should be getting ...
I am now the proud owner of a complete set of Ironman rear shelves/drawer system!!! lol
Centre section arrives next week, and the side sections are on back order, so I'll stick it in next Wednesday/Thursday .... how excitement!!!! lol
Impetuous little boy!!! lmfao
Scotty's losing weight. Tank will appreciate the lighter load. lol
Hahaha!!!! I figure I've lost about half the weight of the rear bar setup so far, not sure if I can lose enough to offset everything though!!! LOL
Not much to look at, but some shots of the rear plugs up on top of the step now ...

Plugs look good there mate, will avoid damage as well.. Nice neat job
Good idea mate, Ive only had bluey a short while and already ive jammed the 7 pin in muddy clay...lol
Looking good buddy, rear draws are one of those must have mods in my mind. Of course you know we MUST have photos.
Started the barwork today - impatient!!! lol
Cut and have mounted the passenger side bracket and first piece of top tube to start lining things up from and tack as I go etc ...
Gangs of fun!!!!
Attachment 4956
Placed the bumper stop back on (just sitting there) and will need to do something with this gap - not overly concerned with it just yet though ...
Attachment 4957
Top tube position from the bracket - still let's me get at the bolts (which I've cleaned up and coated with anti-seize ...

Shes comin together mate exciting times to come! Are ya gunna be there when Tank goes under the chop?
Thanks mate - yep, will be the support person when the knife gets taken to him!! lol ... pretty excited about it now ... dhuck is coming over tomorrow also, so we should be able to knock out the bar work this weekend at least ready for final fitting after the chop chop ...
EDIT: painting it 'pot belly' black!!
Couple more progress shots (not much progress though!! lol). Have just tacked the top bar on to get the angle for the bottom tube ... at the join on the corner, both tubes run down the car together with the outer edge of the smaller one sitting about 30mm inside the outer edge of the larger tube to sort of 'taper' it in line with the body and not look too boxy ...
Tomorrow is another day, so the welder has been put away for today!!

Holding the bottom tube just to give you the idea of where it runs from/to ... pretty stoked that my angle cut to the mounting plate (by hand with the angle grinder) was bloody spot on!!! Miracles will never cease!!! lmfao

Thats comin on reeeel nice. What if anything are you gunna put in the open ends mate
Was thinking about that today, and open to suggestions, however I thought about using that Selley's foam gap filler stuff ... spray it in, let it harden, rough chisel to shape, lightly sand and then spray black as well. It is pretty hardy stuff, and it allows for some movement, but if it flakes out over time, just resprayed and touch up again.
I thought a piece of industrial rubber also (the thick stuff with stitching through the guts for strength) - cut to shape etc, but no real way of getting it to stay in place ....
Those mounts are going to have the corners taken off and rounded also.
Thoughts??
I got high pressure pvc blank ed but its being a bit of a prik to get on i like your idea i got sh1tloads of expension foam im sold on that idea might go do it now
Coming along nicely mate, I like the foam idea for the ends as well.. It's pretty rock solid when its dry as well
Yeah, my only concern was too solid, but according to the website, it allows expansion and contraction for home timber usage, so figure it would do the trick on this as well - just hope it bonds well enough to steel ... again, states that it does, but think that's for 'stationary' usage around windows and the like, not on a fourbie getting flogged around the bush!! lol
A bit more mucking around but I'd be welding a single plate over the ends of both tubes to join the together if you know what I mean.
