Na-ah... Shiny is pretty.
Pretty is nice.
Beasty will be pretty when it comes home.

Had a noisy bearing from the last mud bash. Hoping it was the a/c idler.... Nope its the a/c bearing itself. Put it all back together with less tension on that belt for now.
Next will have to look at an exhaust leak somewhere in the engine bay.
Polished all my black bits.
Nice, ay Man in the hat ?
When is the Lean Green Machine going to be ready Roofy
Wired up two Baintech volt gauges ,one for the main and the other for the AUX battery
Main comes on with ignition, also starting to run yellow RCA cable to the rear.
No idea where to fit the camera, Im thinking just above the towball, no rush
never needed it before so it should be interesting.
Plenty of space on the dash centre fascia for switches and gauges, would like to fit more.
Still need to move the UHF to the passenger side, and move the Cruise control light
up to the pillar pod, Plenty of 12v jobs left to do. Found some awesome leds to use
for awning lights
Put the camera just above the number plate John. Under the black bezel with Patrol on it. If you have it too low you will lose perception of distance I think. Plus under there its hidden and makes it easy to line up the towball when hitching up.
yeah was thinking that but its a PITB getting the wires through the rubber sleeving on the small door.
Never needed a reverse camera yet, with the camper you just line it up between the mirrors and slowly reverse.
Might make life easier though as long as I can see the towball, thanks again Mark
Mate once you have it you will never go without one again. I can reverse park right up to the car behind with ease then adjust my parking accordingly. I would be lost without the camera. Fitment under there is easy John. To run the wires though the sleeve all you do is unplug the sleeve ends from the car and door so the sleeve sits straight, then run the wire through. I taped the wire to a bit of coat hanger wire and pulled it though that way. Took no time at all.
Exactly what I did. Was a piece of cake took me half an hour. Where did you mount your screen Mark?
I mounted mine top right of the windscreen but have a few issues
No 1 it gets in the way of the sun visor and no 2 the suction cap is now stuffed only lasted a couple of months
Drove it to Toys R Us to buy some Star Wars pieces, getting my nerd on early for Star Wars day on Monday
Sold it ... Well one of them anyway.
my mate over the road did this

Pretty bad photo, is that a reversing camera in place of that loop on the back?
That would not last long on my car... i would smash against something before to long.
A mate of mine has one in the same spot but built a steel box around it.
I treated her bad today, it's a wet miserable weekend and while waiting for a customer this morning I parked her and went for a walk between showers.
Had a look at a 76 series on the local Toyota yard. Very impressed, especially the extra tonne towing capacity. V8 power, double diff locks, but very basic, just like my Ute.
When we buy our retirement roadblockwinabagocaravan we will need something to tow it. Until then it's back to the old reliable and back to work.
Have to wash my mouth out with soapy water hahaha
Cheers Jack it was a minor indiscretion, I'm Ok now. Hahaha
Had some surface rust and gutters of the roof cleaned up and all resprayed.
Now the rest of it looks crap!
Looked at my car in the garage all in pieces and went meh! Later...
Drove it home from the beach ! Another great weekend with great friends

Did the EGR block and removed the butterfly from this unit in the red circle in the air intake.

Fixed my engines reluctance to rev past 2,200rpm and it boosts earlier now. :icon_victory:
Installed an ebay remote central locking system. Why didn't I do this earlier?
Not overly, the instructions were in quite bad chinglish so that took a bit of working out. But other then that the hardest part was routing the trigger wires through to the drivers door. My patrol didn't have a grommet to the rubber conduit, it was a big arse plug from body to door. I got the drill onto it though. Less than $50 all up.
Finally purchased a roof rack and can say i love the look of it and life is going to be easier when we go away with 4 kids.

Got mine all back together finally last night. Started it up, let it warm up, and I can smell coolant but can't see it. Engine light is still on too. Now do I take some water with me and go for a drive or just leave it in the garage and just pretend the motor is fubar and I need to do a TD conversion? Lol.
take water with you,
try and isolate where that coolant smell is coming from first
might still be an easy fix,
does the ECU talk work on yours
ECU talk works with mine. I might drop over to Georges after I am sure there is no leaks and see what the error is. I also remove the air resonator box while everything was out and plumbed the vac line for the needle valve directly into the intake.
Absolutely nothing. Not touching it coz it might be traded in the next few days. Not spending any time or maoney on it if im getting rid of it.
