I'm Guna say that's the new motor. New water pump on the front and the new motor didn't have a inlet manifold on it. Why pull the whole engine or to do cam. I know your a bit short George but surely is easier in the car lol

Plus look at the engine bay of his car and it's empty.... lol
The new engine was never going to work in stock form including the head.... the head was set up to run turbo and was down in compression, a whole lot of machining had been done to it.
The engine will be sold to try and get some money back to run in a turbo set up..
My old engine is getting a complete makeover and done right... I have left the whole job up to Harry and his boys to do whats best and done right the first time.
I dont want to hear "You should have done this or that" as I have made my decisions and want to car to be right for the next 4-5 years.
It is getting a tow cam fitted that is brand new and as you can see from the pics my oil pump gears were rooted... lots of other stuff being done..
I am scared but looking forward to getting my car back and will share a beer with Bruce when he is back!!!!!
sorry to hear your bad luck jonno, not to worry mate, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel im sure shell be a dream when you get it back up and running buddy!
Good stuff ... sounds like a good plan to me ..... shame the other engine didn't work out after all the effort you ( and generous others ) have put in
Lets hope that George gets it all together in time for you to come on the forum Mt Disappointment trip I am trying to get myself organized for - a couple of weekends after the Labour Day weekend.

Lol i'm not that short mate!! Haha. Nah theres 2 problems with doing the cam in the car, 1 everything infront of the motor needs to be removed coz its a long sucker including condenser so why spend money on removing the ac gas when i don't have to. 2 coz you need to undo part of the sump to take the timing cover off i didn't want the sumo to leak later dosn the track so that getting resealed :)
Forgot to put a pick of the oil pump drive old with new Attachment 41215
Cam in, motor timed and timing cover on with new timing case seal Attachment 41216
And people flush your cooling system every 2 years or 40,000km and use a quality concentrated coolant and not that premixed crap to eliminate electrolysis Attachment 41217Attachment 41218

In all seriousness, I am impressed by the speed and progress.
I should expect it though, as I am a Sparkie who likes to do all the jobs but even though i am really handy, i am no Chippie and when I do a job that takes me all day, my Chippie mate would do it in 3 hours.
Thanks mate, dads been in the game for over 35 years so the people we use know the quality he demands with time always a factor, sometimes we can get certain jobs fast tracked but this job would normally have a 7 day turn around time anyway even when we are flat out. Also having the right tools and equipment at your disposal makes it alot easier lol
Got to keep my mind busy this morning. ..
