After some 10+years of physically brew testing those horrible Waeco original 80L latches finally had to buy some new ones :-)
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/09/128.jpg
Admittedly they were a tad overpriced :-(
Should probably invest a few grand into a 3D printer to save next time :-)

EDIT: Like any top expedition box, user errors, first logically compress top seals via light weight, then latch down, easy peasy methods as smarter than I says ;-)
Well built gear can outlast us all if used correctly:-)

Had a louver panel made up (600x700mm _ 1mm MS plate) to replace bonnet scoop that is not needed now with FM cooler. In the post from Speedex Engineering_West Heidelberg.
Just need to paint & fit.
Genuine panhard bushes and Superior adj. draglink arrived before.
Hunt for wobbles continues.

Bought one of these "WaterWatch" filters. Hook it up tomorrow before my new H/P fuel pump(IP) goes in. Fuel pump has started leaking(not good)_common defect they tell me, so hope current ones are fitted with improved o-rings.
Updated the wifes car about a month ago.
Purchased a 2016 Kia Cerato. It was a lease car from the Salvation Army with 10300km.
Did the first highway run from Melton to Rosebud. Did get down to 4.8. Gotta love it. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/09/146.jpg

Swung past the ARB head office and maxed out our credit card to assist the old family wagon front end on future adventures.

Great deal I feel, free high output compressor and pump up kit both included for the month of November 2019.

Cheers Blokes, the old family faithful stocky is finally getting some much needed TLC and light mods for adventures we must truly get amongst ASAP for all our noggins wellbeing.
Shocking day for credit finance though, dropped Old Blue Dog Del mate off at the quack for a written $890 estimate, somehow turned into $1,780 upon pickup tonight. Off work again in between this morning myself to a new arm/hand surgeon for a first 15mins consultation, $200. Previous doctors X-rays were declared friggin useless so was immediately sent off for $620 worth of magnetic tube checks over the course of 2 X 30mins “try and stay still sir” headphone demands behind ‘Maxwell Smart’s’ door :-)

Cheers Chrisso mate, fully agree, we truly more than appreciated your ARB assistance over near the Murray mouth last Chrissy!
Thinking I might temporarily relocate the utes service station across to our wagon for next adventures whilst the shed queen snoozes :-)

Would be awesome for sure mate!
We’re family wagon tapping out at the moment now unfortunately, hopefully can quickly pull together some coin for diff ratio changes from current highway 3.9 < > 4.3’s needed upcoming.
10%ish reduction will meet our needs perfectly for now, do have a spare set of new 63% custom transfer crawling gears down the shed if anyone possibly has decent 4.3 front/rear cashless swap in need of?

I would seriously consider 3.1’s and a turbo and pump upgrade. And intercooler. Myself and Darren went from4.3’s to 4.11’s and it’s so much better.
4.3 had me hunting for 2nd within a millisecond of Taking off in first and 5th as just way too high.

One of these for $59 for me gazebo at the Perth 4wd & Adventure show and mesh floor mat. https://www.oztrail.com.au/products/...door-wall-3-0m
Also got a set of 5 tyres for the Pajero (the missus idea)
Was going to get a couple more Expedition 134 boxes but got the tyres instead.
Missus told me we should get some draws for the back of the patrol (we didn't though ... I couldn't believe my ears, she never let's me buy anything [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787].....
After having my previous car stolen, never recovered in 2015, and seeing this article last month;
https://www.redlandcitybulletin.com....bay-discovery/
I bought this:http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2019/11/69.jpg
Works with an Aldi SIM for $15 a year with a free app to monitor it [emoji106]
Only issues with these are the somewhat limited coverage with Aldi mobile outside major centres and the uncertain future of the 3G network on which they operate. But you should get a few years out of it, and it is probably cheap insurance. Try talking to your insurance company to see if you are eligible for a discount once this is fitted.
Those are certainly valid points about the network coverage. It's only a cheap unit, so I wasn't expecting top notch, but it's great peace of mind and one step up from your car vanishing and wondering where it went.
Yeh I did think about contacting my insurance company, I'll definitely do that.
Think I'm set with the old TD servicing for a little while. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2019/11/70.jpg
A left hand passenger door - to replace the one the wife wrote off trying to get out the back gate, and an air conditioning compressor. Happy days.
Attachment 79642Hi Cremulator
I run 3 cheap $99 3g trackers on aldimobile. Coverage is via telstra, so it is excellent. I can review where the car has been via my app (keelin, chinese server) and there are no dropouts.
Make sure you put it somewhere with a clear view if the sky, not under metal....
So the unit needs to be physically visible like a satellite pick up instead of an rf pickup? That seems contrary to how these devices are marketed doesn't it? I have been considering getting one of these but thought for greatest value it should not be visible or free to find by the thief?
Yeah, I guess but its not quite as covert as perhaps its made to appear. I know a number of units I have looked at all state you can hide them under the dash or 'out of sight', some do from memory have a little paddle remote antenna, others don't. Just curious with the performance caveat.
Dont stress , you will be fine if it is under glass and plastic, like concealed under your dashboard. Dont put it under your bonnet, or tuck it under your roof liner. Have not put one in the pooey yet, but it will go under the dash close to where the windscreen meets it.
I have one in a VE dunnydoor under the rear parcel shelf liner, out of sight, works fine.
Oops! Should have been a bit more detailed with the clear view of the sky bit.
Plastic and glass dont bother gps signals very much. Metal is your enemy!
Sorry about that!
What brand is the GPS tracker you use? I'd be interested to try one of the Chinese ones but I wasn't sure how well they worked here.
I'll be sure to mount mine where the signal isn't compromised. I'm testing different areas of the car to see how it goes for signal strength.
