Great cranking but for a short period. Generally last a long time but no good for deep cycle work. Great in race cars

I'm more cheesed off at my self, as I HAD the aux battery setup in the rear, and then once I got some draws due to space limitations and no feasable battery spot, I slotted it back in the front.
Either way, heat or not, the battery is rooted now. Even though it was a fairly expensive one for a 85AH. Live and learn. Just spent some time at the rear of the patrol, conjuring up ideas and pretty sure the aux setup is going to the rear again. Most of my wiring is there already so, not a huge job.

It was suggested to me Eric from someone that if I wanted to have the battery in the rear with draws there also, that I should look at shortening one of the drawers enough so that the battery can sit behind the draws. I was also thinking of some how tucking it in the side above the wheel arch where that pocket is. Will lose around 18cm of the draw, which is bugger all. The end of the draw is easy to grind the welds , cut the to size and weld or rivet the end back on. Drill some new holes for the rubber stops and voila!!! Battery hidden away and still easily accesible when you slide the draw slide open.
I got the idea of someone else who has done it on the other patrol forum. Also , there are a few people with shorty GQ's who have shortened them draws to suit the back of the shorty!
