Being able to take off the Moon Boot for extended periods and being able to sleep without Pain Killers.
I can now put weight on the Ankle without Pain.
Taking it easy though as I dont want to delay the healing.
My 18yo niece received her acceptance into the Navy today. She's worked damn hard to get there, and the hard work has paid off. I'm so happy for her I'm actually teary.
Heard from UFI that they are a 'little' behind at the moment. Appreciate the news, now I know.
About a month ago, I left my office window open and a rain storm came through and soaked my lappy to the point of zzzzztttttt. lol
My fantastic insurance company gave me a new lap top and other stuff.
Now, I'm back!
G'day Clunky. lol
1 more day till retirement, he ha. :D
Got email from lawyers advising they have put the insurance company on notice and will be filing a breach claim against for failure to pay medical costs.
Also got a letter from the arbitrator approving an extension for a common law claim until november at this stage based on my specs report listing my condition as unstable and unemployable.
Will see on tuesday what the surgeon says but hoping for some positive news again
I got a pension rise of $2 a week so I saved up for ten weeks and bought a Forum Sponsorship.
Now I'm the same as Grunter and Clunk.. and..... Stropp......... and......... Doggy................... Holy Shit, what gave I done.
2 specs so far have put me down as "whole body impairement" at the moment without a % rating to due being medically unstable. Without that rating, I can't get much out of them which is what I need but have to wait to see what the surgery options are and what I will be rated before and after
Decided late last night for a last minute dash to the Gold Coast for a couple of days, just to have "Mike's Ribs" the best in the gold coast, then shoot up to Noosa for a week.
whats the cut off point over there under your system is it 27%like here.
Hope they dont drag out the paperwork instead of trying to repair/fix the problem as best they can.
You may never be 100% after surgery but 99% is pretty damn close.
Confused by the whole body impairment thing or is that just a term till they have a name for it
To me that would imply to me no upper or lower body movement
It used be a % of "whole body disability" but there too many loop holes so they changed it.
Get nothing under 15%, between 15 and 25% all benefits stop whilst negotiatipns for payout are conducted and then reimbursed, 26%+ all benefits remain whilst negotiations are being conducted.
Common law claim only allows upto $465k but takes into account what you may receive from WC payouts.
EG I may get $200k WC payout then my maximum under common law goes to $265k = $465k total allowed but it is very rare to get that high now.
It was changed back in 2005 as you could have 2 guys with identical injuries and got to 2 different specs, 1 gets 5% and the other gets 30%. Now with the changes it makes it very hard for the specs here to give a false % rating and even a true % rating is hard to get now.
tops back in the day was $185k with 75% pay weekly
if injured by car then TAC pay out is un limited
You have com care or similar ?
Not just common workcover ?
Comcare wasn't adopted over here because our grubs suck. Only have normal workers comp
wow wish those figures were around back in the day.
but would prefer not to be eligible though

Got up early this morning, made a cuppa, sat on the lounge and thought the aquarium looks great.
Have a great day everyone.
Completed my 12th back to back Pier to Pub yesterday. That's four open water races in two weeks so that's not to bad for an old fella.
Always a bonus when you're able to come out at the other end.
I will be home in a couple hours after an exhausting couple of weeks.
Causing an accident and no major damage to the other car.
Finished packing the car and camper, and heading off to bed soon for our early start in the morning for a long drive to Merimbula.

Enjoy. Was up there two summers ago with our wind up van(no longer have) beautiful place. We stayed at the big 4 BBQ breakfast just about each morning and they had two young ladies come in everyday to entertain the kids. Looking at going back next summer.
