  1. Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie and I need a bit of help with a project I've started with my son. We're building a composite 4X4 from a 1989 Nissan GQ DX TB42S chassis, a Ford Barra engine, a Toyota FJ45 body, with custom tray. There are lots of issues we have to face to get engineering approval but I believe that we're travelling a well trodden path and plenty of people have done this before. That said, the first words out of the engineers mouth was 'I think you're going to need a brake upgrade strategy before you do anything else'. There are quite a few choices available and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations? I'd like to get a good upgrade for a reasonable spend - I that I can upgrade to a GU third party kit and get some (expensive) great callipers, pads and rotors but the cost will be circa $5,000. Can anyone recommend something that has worked for them in this type of situation that is effective, reasonably priced and will pass the braking requirements? Cheers, Chris
