Hi guys,

I am new owner of 2004 Patrol GU 3 with ZD30. The engine just been rebuilt. So I would like to ask about...

1. Do I need install NADS for my patrol?
2. Where can I install in Perth region?
3. How much cost?
4. What items are including in NADS?

Thanks everybody in advance.

Cheers. Jason

Hi Jason
I can definitely help you here matey I’ve done the nads on a 2000 patrol with over 300,000kms on it. So the list of items is

-Dawes and needle valve (Mudski on here sells a mint kit shoot him a pm)
-PSI gauge
-EGT gauge
-EGR blanking plate. Definitely high on the list as this is what let’s the high exhaust temps back into the intake then further driving up temps.
-2.5”/3” exhaust
- a decent catch can (I have a hpd one on mine was a bit dear but well worth every penny)

1. Do I need install NADS for my patrol? Being a 2010 probably don't have to but always a good thing to do.

2. Where can I install in Perth region? I have always had good service from Joondalup 4x4, 4 Packard St, Joondalup WA 6027. They did my NADS.

3. How much cost? Can't remember.

4. What items are including in NADS? What JackCollo said.
Hope that helps.

The cost for me I can try and list in a very rough estimate but it could be different it Perth
The Dawes kit from Mudski was about $170
PSI gauge was $250 with a fitting kit
Exhaust temp gauge was $250 with fitting kit
EGR blanking plate was like $30 bucks
The exhaust cost me $800 through a friend mine is 3” off the back of the turbo straight out.
The catch can was $385 but the best investment I ever did

What does NADS stand for?!
I had an old 40 year career mechanic from Nissan tell me not to do the anti- det kit.
He said if it didn’t blow up by 150k, it wasn’t going to.
But The head was cracked to pieces when I got the old lady at 300k...

Nissan Anti Detonation System. Mechanic is probably 75% accurate, but they can blow up any time. A few guys on here have had disasters at over 300k. Personally I would do a NADS on any 3ltr, regardless of age and build date. I have it on mine. Mine still might go bang one day though, it's just the luck of the game.

NADS is a backyard attempt to stop the #3 piston and/or its neighbour spitting the chewy.

None of the NADS mods will save an injector pump
