Hey everyone this would have been covered a million times by now but i am new to this forum and would like to start off fresh.

As of late my zd has blown the head and turbo at the same time. I have only had the car for 8months and the receipts from last owner show new turbo fitted about 50,000km ago. And evidence of the head being replaced not too long ago

I have a couple of questions
How long is a turbo expected to last and if i replace the head and do the appropriate mods will i have this head issue again.

I have
dawes valve and needle valve
Egr blank
Oil catch can
3inch exhaust

The only thing i dont have is the pyro meters for monitoring the egts my head went before i fitted it.

Has anyone got any experience with head packages from ebay or are these all risky to be fitting ive been quoted up too 2.5k for a new head and would like some advice on this.

Also are the stock turbos worth replacing or is there a better option for less

The td42 coversion was on the cards but the price is just out of reach atm.

may I ask what has happened to the turbo. what symtons does it have

Hi kevin i didnt notice the turbo had gone till i pulled my motor apart starting to remove the head there was lots of oil in the dump pipe and rear housing.

So i checked the impeller and there was so much play in it.So i sent the turbo off with the head to be looked at.

Im not sure how this has happened to such a new turbo last owner had receipts for it from nissan being around 45-50k old.

The mighty ZD30 does not like being over filled with oil
This may be part of the problem.

Cant explain the oil if it was the head that sent it down the turbo or the oil line on the turbo gave but oil levels on the sump itself where normal regularly serviced every 5k
