Is there any room beside the draws behind the wheel arch?
Or even in front of it but behind the seats.

Got no suggestions for you , just a comment about noise. Cameron (cgm) has the same compressor that I have, but he has his buried away in the front of his drawers whereas mine is out in the open (in the pod). To use mine I need to have the pod door open. To use his he has to have the rear drivers side door open. However Cameron’s is a fair bit quieter than mine, it seems that having ‘stuff’ all around it (whilst allowing for airflow) does a pretty reasonable job of absorbing the noise that the little blighters make. Ours wouldn’t fit under seats thankfully, because yes, it would be enough to drive anyone insane. How folk who use airlockers combined with under seat compressors don’t present as dribbling deaf lunatics I’m not quite sure. Maybe there should be a new category in the DSM ...... Under Seat Compressor Trauma Syndrome! ;) .............................Pardon?

Engine bay is the last place to mount them as most have a thermal cut out.
Mount a one gallon air tank along the chassis and mount the compressor to
the cargo barrier and feed the tank with teflon push on line and fittings.
FYI I have the same as Cuppa and have had it for 15 plus years easy great pump but mine has a thermal cut out.
Ive yet to decide to mount it in the Patrol as there are better smaller pumps out there today
If you have a drawer system dont they have wings on the side to mount bibs and bobs

I got mine under the passenger seat. Doesn't drive me mad as it only gets used when I need the locker. Besides the wife loves the vibrations....

I put mine in the rear stropp and glad I did!
If it was in the engine bay I wouldn't be able to reach the camper tyres ;)

if i can fit mine into the engine bay i will run a line to the rear so i can pump up without opening the bonnet, just need to find room or move things around.

I mounted mine next to my draws, I used the rear seat mounts and the tank is behind the draws.

These are good compressors. I have one with Rydge Ryder (Supercrap) stickers on it and a mate has the Ironman stickers on his. Dr Air, Terrain Tamer and ALDI also sold them. "$605, tell him his dreamin!"
For the $114 they are very good value.

Mines under the passenger seat, with the intake mounted in the quarter panel trim. All of the wiring is sealed in a plastic box, so if the vehicle is flooded the compressor might be saved. Also having the intake filter away from the unit has reduced the noise considerably.

Mine sits to the side of the aux battery tray. I was lucky to have had enough room there for it. Plus also had spare room for the catch can too. So this all sits next to the turbo and I'm yet to have any issues I suppose. Don't know what real estate you have under the hood for this setup. But I was running out of room too, and this proved to be a good solution.
I also ran a hose to the front with a fitting for easy access. Just flick the on button in the cab, plug in the hose and away we go...
