The tie down point on the drivers side right behind the rear seat had a bolt in it, now it had half a bolt as I snapped it off. Then I realised that I didn't actually need to take it out. As I am new to patrols, does that bolt do anything other than the tie down? For reference it's a 2006 gu dx wagon.

Is it the bolt right behind the seat? If so it will be for a baby restraint anchor point. If it's the ones with the big square hoop that's for the dicky seats to lock onto.

I was installing black widow drawers so I doubt I will ever use it, I was concerned it did more then just the tie down point. I couldn't see it underneath, it seems the to nay be directly under the shocks

Should still pull it out atleast before you put the draws in. It's done then and then you won't get surprised by it should you even need to use it.

Don't you use those holes to bolt in the draws?

No, you need to drill 4 10.5mm holes through the floor. You use the tie down points as reference points, the actual tie down bolts don't get used for the actual drawer system. As I can't see the tie down underneath that I snapped in half I am curious as to whether it did anything important as if not then I might just leave it as is.

I would remove it ,as it would drive me crazy knowing it was there

Did the bolt turn then get stuck and snap off ? Or was it seized from the get go ?

It turned out about a centimetre then just snapped off, it didn't feel as though i was using excessive force. If I could see it under the car I could figure it out but it appears to be hidden by the shock.

If it had just spun off I'd have left it but having moved 1cm I'm be inclined to replace it, just incase it held on to something else
