Looks great Winnie don't forget to cable tie that IC support bracket to the top heater hose,
or any others that are touching, It'll wear through very fast, Love that blue silicon hose looks good

Okay so temps are down 50 degrees on the freeway, so when cruising at 110km/h they sit at 250, going up the hill to my house it does not get above 380, used to get to 450.
You know what that means, dump more fuel in! lmao can't wait until next Tuesday!

Yep even though the scoop dropped my temps by 100 degrees, it's not doing anything!
Winnie

Yeah it is and it seals up but the scoop is far bigger
MudRunnerTD
15th August 2013, 11:51 AM
Yeah it is and it seals up but the scoop is far bigger
Then that's fine mate, if anything it should cause more pressure under the scoop and force more air through as its catching more that the hole can handle in a 1 to 1 flow rate I would think?
taslucas
15th August 2013, 11:54 AM
It would probably create a little back pressure if the hole was bigger than the IC?
threedogs
15th August 2013, 11:54 AM
Are or have you fitted a fan if doing slow high country work ?
@ lucas hard to tell if its working if my IC was leaking like a sieve,
Now temps are a tad lower than Winnies and very consistant

I dont think I will make 300.
200kw (271hp) is the goal at the moment, it made 192hp on 35s and 207hp on 31s. Its on 33s atm so at a guess even 200hp give or take.

I am so stoked, it goes awesome and fuel economy I got 12.6L/100 on the way home which is a huge improvement. The fuel pump is my limiting factor now, it's maxed out! Boost at 16psi,he said in the summer if my EGTs are a bit high I should turn the boost up a little but other than that there is no point because it will not make more power. EGTs are the same as when they went in, so stoked again! Blue line is before, black is after.
And look what else came in the mail today, it's been a good day!

Still loving it mate, such a massive improvement to how it was when you went for a ride. Like a new motor has been put in it. Managed to use 25L/100km over the weekend but it was probably 80% low range and driving fairly hard, everybody seemed to use unusually high amounts of fuel that day. Still getting 12-14 normal daily driving.

You would have all seen but last weekend when I was out at O'tooles camp ground I put a dirty great hole in my radiator, had to drive back to Warragul the next morning in a mate's car and buy a new radiator, which was for an auto and it was not a HD radiator like I want. So I rang the radiator shop today and they are gonna do me a good deal on trading it in on a heavy duty radiator. So I'm going to service the viscous clutch while it's all out and I need a new fan shroud and fan so will give Patrolapart a call when they open up shop again.

Drill holes in your nice new Zinc Coated Powder Coated rear bar to add the cross bracket for the mud flaps that should have been welded in during manufacture? The plot thickens... This has happened twice now and I have a theory as to why it is happening.
Last time I adjusted the wheel bearings I think I bent the drivers side circlip that holds it all together. I did not have a pair of circlip pliers so used two pairs of pointy nose pliers and I think I've stretched it.
It has come off and allows a bit of movement in the hub, now my wheel hubs have come loose a couple of times and I think this free play is allowing them to come loose.
I will order a GU hub nut upgrade and replace the circlips (with circlip pliers)
I drove the car this week and noticed a noise coming from that hub so I am assuming it has come loose again. This should help with my braking too.
