Just about completed the full NADS on my 3lt Patrol. Once i have fitted the Dawes and Needle valve, would it help to have engine tuned (Dyno) ? i think a Dyno would set it at its peak performance, instead of relying on human guess work, what are your thoughts ?

Depends how competent you are with tinkering with it. Without a chip there isn't to much you can play with on the 3.0. You can use them for comparisons and they are great for this seeing what mods make what difference. And if your not keen on playing around with your settings a good tuner will help ease any doubt and should be able to show you what does what.

Was actually thinking this myself. Getting a 2.75" Beaudesert exhaust next week and was wondering if it's worth putting it on the dyno just to fine tune and get any extra out of it.

Lol I wish :)

Depending on costs I was thinking of getting dyno'd pre & post exhaust then tuned & see what improvements come.

i am about to head off on a extented holiday towing a 3 tonne van. the 4 pot 3lt has got its work cut out pulling this thing. i would of thought tuning may help. if i don't tune do i just go by pyro/boost gauges? i do have a steinbaur set at standard. will this change things?

Given the mods you already have, you may get a bit more benefit from a dyno tune than would a standard setup like mine. Nissannewby, or others with similar mods, would be able to give you a more definitive answer though.

just wanted to expand on my last reply, i have every mod except the dawes and needle valve which i am waiting to arrive by post. i am going to fit the dawes and needle valve myself, using chaz's website instructions, i am only average at mechanicals and was not confident i would get the dawes and needle valve set correctly, therefore thinking a Dyno may be the way to go ? any suggestions appreciated ?
