Has anyone had any experience with the diesel/gas conversion currently available.
Claims are being made of 98% fuel burn efficiency with subsequent power and economy benefits.
Sounds interesting but have yet to meet anyone who has done it.
My GU is a 4.2T which will soon have the 3'' exhaust upgrade as the first step in finding just a bit more bottom end grunt for towing.
I know that quite a few road trains here in the West are running Diesel/Natural Gas setups and apparently getting good results.

Was very popular for a while, can see it worthwhile for a big trucking Co doing big miles. But dont think the system is quite perfected.
think theres 2 types one squirts gas, the other dribbles small amount or something, cant see how it'll it can save you money especially with the price of gas ATM.
For the small gains, installation costs, remember you now need 2 fuel sources, maybe higher engine temps, I Wouldn't but I think GAS KILLS CARS
and yes my last 4x4 was dual fuel, never again. my opinion only here, but haven't heard any good reports yet from anyone. Save your money for other toys, locker, winch, whatever
DYNO your 4.2 you may be surprised what they can get out of it

It's a very good concept but as mentioned by TD above gas hasn't made a built proof name for itself.
The systems I have seen in trips are just like the petrol. They have a has carbu just before the inlet manifold which mixes air and gas.
Benefits, gas burns earlier which aids in burning the diesel more efficiently. I've been told up to 98%+ more efficiently, so they back off the amount of fuel going in, thus saving money.
I think now the savings would be minimal per tank with the price of gas these days.
And I'm not 100% sure how they do it with a turbo?

I've done the job on my Nissan Terrano 2.7 turbo diesel. Results are more than awesome ;) Remember that the LPG is an additive fuel and does help burn nearly all the diesel charge and so produces a much bigger bang for your bucks . Mix is only around 7% or so. I've had a massive boost in torque at low revs, exactly where I like it . Overall MPG has improved too if I drive it normally, more power for less throttle position. easy install too. I did my own and then got the system checked and got my cert. of approval, simples . I've seen kits on Aus ebay for around 1300 dollars but I did mine for about 350. Just sourced the parts individually :)
Go for it.

You'll find that the gruberment stuck there noses in back in 2000'ish and put up a $2000 rebate on gas installations.
All of a sudden labour and parts cost skyrocketed and absorbed that $2000 rebate and the buyer was still $2-3000 out of pocket.. That's why it's not very viable anymore..
If you plan on keeping the car for many years and racking up a million K's I'd say go for it..
