zd30 timing chain replace
Hi there everyone
I was just wondering if I could get some advice before changing the timing chain.
My query is, do I need to lock the idler gear before removing the timing chain? And if so whats the best thing to use to lock it up. Would any bolt be ok?
Also please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not taking to injector pump out so why do I need to lock the idler gear?
Thank you in advance

The Gregory's Manual has all the detail--not simple but works fine if you follow the directions.
My memory says it is almost impossible to get the timing cover off with the engine in place--vacuum pump drive shaft prevents removal
