Oils on sale
Hi all.
I think that all would agree that the most expensive running cost of a vehicle is it's fuel and a close second is it's oils. For example a Patrol 4.5L petrol motor would use 8 to 10 litres every 5000km at about $100 a pop which adds up to too much. Not to mention A/T fluid. So if anyone anywhere spies a oil special could you please post it here so we all could have a chance at saving just a little.

Always cheaper to buy in larger quantities. 20L is usually 60-120 depending on brand and vendor. It gets cheaper again when you start looking at 60 and 205L drums.

Guys,
as a heavy vehicle mechanic I have access to some good pricing, and am happy to pass this on, as it gets my sales up, which helps get it cheaper next time.
I use Gulf Western oil, which is Australian made, and I have done some sampling where it is sent to a lab, and came back good. Been using it for years.
For the TB45, they recommend "HI TECH PREMIUM 20w50" which I can get for $91 including GST for a 20L
for the TD42 they recommend their 14W40 Top Dog XDO, which is the same as Delo 400, which I can get for $97 including gst for 20L
for the later ZD30's like mine, they recommend a TOP DOG GLOBAL SEMI SYN 10W40, which is $114 including gst.
you can look up exactly what they recommend and the quantities at http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/GulfWesternAus/
I will be buying the TOP DOG XDO in 205L drums soon, which will bring the price down if anyone whats to do BYO drums? (I will even have spare empty drums)
If anyone is interested I can send you a price on 205L drums, and can find out about delivery too.

do you know which Diesel engine oil exactly? Gulf Western do a few different Diesel engine oils. I have only brought a lower grade one once for a mates Tractor.
