That's the one! Part of the magic is that it's a couple of km walk to get to it. Many cars turn up to the car park, do a slow loop, and keep going.

    No crocs.

Two ways to get to it. The track really only opens when it is pretty dry, and there is no risk. The Reynolds River track runs between the litchfield loop, and Daly River road. It crosses the Reynolds River three times. Commonly these crossings can be bonnet height. The black soil would be barrels of fun at the same time. Unfortunately during this trip it was pretty dry, with only one crossing with water, and only wheel high.

I'll post a couple more pics if people wish, of the track etc. Not to be confused with the next where is it pic by the queenslander.

That’d be good. Seems I didn’t get to see all of Litchfield. Another place to add to the ‘return to’ list. We drove in on the bitumen, & the only place I recall going to ‘off road’ was the ‘Lost City’. I recall now someone telling us about a ‘back way’ into the NP which was reputed to be fairly ‘gnarly & steep’.

Lol. That track isn't gnarly or steep. It's just a bit fun when wet, but not too wet. You won't get the bus in though.

It is a little further south than the lost city. The closer waterfalls in litchfield are known as the 'tourist traps'. Most people are happy with these waterholes, and you can access mostly by bitumen.

Maybe I’ve mis-recalled what we were told, but certainly were told we wouldn’t get our bus through that way.
Went to the Lost City on motorcycles, (way too tight to get the bus in there!). I reckoned it was the highlight of our time in Litchfield, mainly because it got us away from the hordes of coach-bound tourists. Next time we’re up that way we’ll be in the Patrol.

    Bit late, but try these.
All of the same place from different angles.
Third pic is of the way the small hill is crumbling.

    No, not a mine.

It's in WA and is accessed from one of the Beadell Highways.
