Best airbox for gu tb45
Hi guys. I remember seeing a thread but can't seem to find it. (Might be on different forum).
Im after ideas on changing the barrel airbox on a gu tb45 to something possibly smaller and cheaper to replace from another model. The curent filter is $99.
Also im starting to run out of room for under bonnet space.

After searching around. The zd30 seems to be the go.

You can get a washable Unifilter for the TB45E for $75.
If you want to see a TD42 airbox in a TB45E check my turbo build thread.

Maybe in the lid but you have to modify that anyway. I believe they use the same filter element and bolt in the same way.
The holes are already there.
Btw, I feel absolutely no difference in performance with the modified TD42 airbox.

Thanks for that. I'm not after a performance gain. Just a little under bonnet real estate gain.

Sorry, my comment wasn't clear. I meant it to say that there's no performance loss in changing the air boxes.
It was suggested on another forum that the TB45E airbox was better than the TD42 but I don't feel it..

Fair enough. Bigger is probably better but I don't care. I need some room for a fuse block and solar regulator
