    TD42T Clutch

    G'day fella's,

Looking at replacing my clutch in the GU Patrol and was wondering if there is any difference between a GQ clutch and a GU clutch to suit a TD42T engine.....was looking at a exedy safari tuff clutch and some sites say they suit GQ & GU and some don't...only difference was the price.....can someone clarify this

    Cheers Owen

Yeah they should fit mate. The only difference I have seen is the gu has 4 locating dowels and the gq 2 for the pressure plate. Its easy to get around either use only 2 dowels or drill holes for the extra 2.

Just make sure the specs are all the same like clamp pressure and clutch plate. Also if money permits get it assembly balanced.

Its also a good time to replace your engines rear main seal.

Cheers SupRob, I've got a 2000 model GU, It had a ZD30 motor in it and I've just put in a 4.2 non intercooled one i scored from a bloke in QLD.

New to the 4.2 motor so i was just curious as the one i ripped off the motor has the two dowels on the pressure plate, no brand name or numbers on it so i ended up buying the NSK-7235ST anyway.
