    Where I am at.

I have been careful not to air my disappointment with too much vigour on the open and public part of the forum.
The reasons are really quite simple, I don't want a blue that gets out of control and polarises members into "camps".
Also I have a short fuse for some things and I didn't want to say something that can not be unsaid.
I was pissed off with Threedogs and told him so, yet get no response either to give me the flick or an apology.
I had tried to smooth the waters when he last pulled the pin via PM's yet he implied I had been giving him a hard time using the screen of no public mail. I know what I had said and I am happy for all to read them and make your own minds.
I come back from an extended weekend away and nothing has changed. This has happened so many times with Threedogs.
So it was better for me to leave. A few mails were sent to mates here explaining my decision, including Paul.
Thanks to all of you, I have had a great time with you on line even tough I can not get to the gatherings and trips.
Please keep in mind the depression thread before you rip me to shreds. I am not in a good place because of all this and to be told to eat a bag of cement would not really be appropriate.
I am happy with my self about taking a long look at my participation here and want to make sure you all continue to enjoy yourselves.
Please moderators do what you need to do to keep this thread within the rules, I am not beating about the bush on purpose.
This is the truth from my point of view, it is not intended to be vindictive.
There is always another side of the story and that should be heard.
    Yours in a Patrol,
    Iain "Macca" Maclean
    Cheers
    Macca

hi Macca, im sorry to see anyone leave the forum, that goes for EVERYONE. I do understand that people for their own reasons do not get along or take offense at what someone says but for me like a lot of others i take everything with a grain of salt, i maybe do not get involved as some but i try to help where i can. I understand also that we all have our demons we are dealing with in different ways and i would hope that you and Paul and anyone else that has had enough can take a bit of time out, work out your issues and return here to the forum as i enjoy reading what everyone has to say but i wont get involved in personal problems between members as at the end of the day we are all adults and can work out what is best for each of us. As i said i hope everyone can sort things out and return when that has been achieved.

    Gday Iain,

Thanks for your post. It is disappointing to read though as was Paul's thread yesterday. I have made a point of not commenting in any of the threads of this nature to date (maybe one a long time ago??) i really dont see the point to be honest.

I appreciate that at times Humans get sick of each other, happens every day in work places, clubs, pubs, schools and kindergartens all over the World. Unlike the internet, when your sick of someone in person you can just walk away, turn them off, ignore their comments, whatever. If that person was in a Club with you he may not be someone you have a beer with at the end of the night, OK, but if he had a comment to make during the Club Meeting then thats His choice, feel free not to listen, but thats his choice and right. Thats the point surely??

I sincerely appreciate that at times different members might find other members frustrating. Pointless posts, dribble, hijacking (all socialising generally) can get frustrating. I agree, but its a foundation of this community. kind of sets this place apart from many other forums.

Imagine this place without the likes of Growler or Clunk?? or 3dogs! they keep this place ticking. feel free to correct mis-information though! its very important to me that the database presents accurate information. I have been on this forum since the very beginning yet i have a post count under 8000. I generally dont dribble much, happy for others too though. I rarely read it though! thats the key right there i reckon! Sometimes i find myself going back through a thread to get back on track because i missed something in the dribble but i am not going to stifle the dribble, thats the members interacting and is the foundation of the place.

As a general rule we Never Stomp on a new or Old member that asks a "dumb" question. Our community shows patience and consideration and answers the question. The Thanks button is most often enough recognition. Try that on other forums or Face Book and people get raked over the fire every day. i am often shocked at the Poor behaviour in face book groups! Disgusting.

So i look at threads like this one and try to figure out the Benefit to the forum?? i struggle to find Any benefit to the forum! Self analysis is important but when hung out in public can be very destructive in deed. i have been in a number of community based groups over the years and seen the devastation that can come to an active group when personal grievances get hung on the clothes line.

Personally, i cant see how the Forum can possibly make a choice? we cant choose one member over another? Surely noone would accept a member being banned or served an infraction because another member is frustrated with them or does not like them?? Surely?

Do like i do mate, dont read it? if you have a problem with the posts of another member dont read his posts, skip over them, If im skimming through a thread i skim over plenty but try and make a point of stopping to read posts from member that i know i am interested in hearing from on a topic. I rarely post in General chat, rarely post in Nightshift, rarely post in Drunken Rambling thread.

I appreciate your reference to the Depression thread mate, take a break, take your time, sing out, ask for help, ask for support. Do not doubt that the guys on this forum will put their hand out to help if you need it. 3dogs included mate, this i have No Doubt about.

ABs post in another thread suggested that we need to just ignore the things that give us the shits. enjoy what you like about the place. This forum is extraordinary. Without it i think i would be a trainwreck by now. This place is my Mens Shed and i consider plenty of guys here my good friends.

All the best mate, take a break, take a breathe, come back here anytime you like. You Too Paul!!!

    Kindest regards Darren

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

WARNING!: Do not ever use a towball as a recovery point. They are not rated and can become a deadly projectile during a recovery if they snap off, and they have done so with tragic results in the past.
