    Angry Gq patrol melting coil

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum.

I was out bush bashing in my 4.2 petrol gq and then the engine cut out. I opened the bonnet and had a look around and found that my coil had melted. I got a tow home and then later on that day replaced the coil. When I switched the ignition on the new coil started to cook itself. Has anyone else had this problem? And suggestions would be great!

I suspect the short on the coil is due to a failure elsewhere

    Carby or EFI?

If carby, check your points have not welded together. If you have a pertronics you the moduke might have shorted and is now shorting the coil.

If standard ignition possible that the condenser has shorted as well+

p.s. have you introduced your self
