    help 98 gu window stuck in the down position

    does anyone know how to raise a window that the electric motor has decided to take a holiday on. will wind down but not up, all switch electrics are good. is there a manual way to raise the window
    6.5 Chevy, roof rack, uhf, Spotties, dual batteries, ARB Bullbar, 12, 000lb winch, (unfortunately not Warn) Safari snorkel, Dieselgas conversion, 2in lift, engine watchdog fitted, boost/EGT guages, front elokka fitted, rear power supply mods, turbo timer, dual wheel carrier rear bar.

    If it winds down the electric motor can't be the problem.

    Which window is it?

    If you have the door trim off try putting power and negative directly to the motor.

    it was passenger side. Managed to get it up by unscrewing the motor and then putting it back together. rang nissan for a new one. 600 for a new motor

    Try a reg from another door. Just to be sure it's the reg.

    Put a test light across both wires at the motor. Make sure all window switches are plugged in.

    The test light should light up when operating passengers switch and drivers main switch..... both up and down. Does it?

    Unfortunately I have put it back together. I am about to begin a 5500 km trip on Thursday to darwin so I will check it out when the trip is over.

    ...or you could do what Yendor suggested. Would be a lot easier than my suggestion. I would assume if it works on the up, it would work on the down if the switch is fine.
