Diesel chips / modules for 3ltr crd

Well I am reading and reading about chips, modules ,rail pressures, timing , pulsing...
All the terminology related to diesel chips and I have been looking for reviews. There is a lot of posts on people buying the chip and installing and the notice they felt after the install but not a lot after they have had it installed a while.

What I am looking for is who has had what chip in there 3 litre crd for a while now and how it is going, have you had any problems because of the chip and / or had to replace parts. How many Kms have you done with it and would you still recommend the chip you have.

    Rotto,

You have Chip-It around the corner ... go and check them out.

Plenty of guys running their chips with good results, as long as you don't try to make it do too much. ( I am not sure if I would personally do the fuel rail mod )

Well I've done about 40k on my DPChip. And have not had a problem yet.
I switch from the different settings between low and high setting depending on what I'm doing.
Now I think I'm on 4, but when I was in the Knockwood turned up to 8.

Fuel economy was better once installed, even on high 8, economy was better than standard.
I did 6 complete tanks on each setting, including non chip.
I have a thread here somewhere with all the details. Just can't remember off hand.

Definitely feel the increase in power when at speed.
Still a heavy car with a 4 cylinder. Lol

I drive mine like a go cart.

Wasn't really meaning I was going to do a fuel rail mod, some chips increase fuel pressure in the fuel rail while others connect to injectors and change the pulsing time of the injector.... I have read about them and aware quite a lot of people running each type, just chasing first hand knowledge of how they have gone since installs..

ive got a Steinbauer in mine and run it at 3/4 and i noticed the diffrence, fuel use went down slightly but nothing to write home about. took 30 mins to fit and can be removed in 10 mins if your car is under warranty and dont want nissan to find out.

run any chip to high and your just going to blow unburnt fuel and a s#it load of smoke.

ive had mine for 3 yrs (70,000)now and not one issue. touch wood!

Yeah still under warranty, new car runs out next May and then the extended new car from there( that will be easier to deal with as I don't have to get it serviced at a nissan dealer so can make an arrangement with my mechanic that will be doing it)

You don't have to do the fuel rail mod ... only if you want extra performance over the normal type power gains.

I have been talking to one of the reputable Diesel Workshops in Lilydale here in Melb, and he has four different chips he sells ( or can get his hands on ) and he recommends the Unichip or the Chip-It Modules.
