Koni shocks

G'day! I've got a question about Koni shocks on my 2012 short wheeled base Patrol. I removed the Nissan shocks and put Koni 301379 and 301380. An improvement from the Patrol shocks for sure but I want the ride to be softer. When travelling on road, going over a crack in the road is felt more than I want and when off road going over compact sand (like corregated iron) the car will be shaking all over the place. I spoke to a guy in Australia who suggested the 822347SP1 and 822348SP1 Koni shocks. Over here they sell the 822347/8 shocks without the SP1, although the guy said he can order them from Holland. What do you guys think? Should I change over to the 82 series and if so, is there much difference between the 82 and 82SP1? Most people over here have the 30 series, I'm assuming that's for a reason but I don't know what the benefit is if the 82 is more comfortable. I also hear that the hydrolic shocks last longer than the high gas pressure shocks. So I'm confused as to why more people don't use the 82 series here. Any help from you guys would be much appreciated.

not sure of model number but most ppl I know have the adjustable /rebuildable Koni
costing about $500au a corner.

The 30 Series shocks should be fully adjustable, so you should be able to make them softer on the compression stroke

I've already got them on the softest setting, they were taken out of the box and installed straight away, no turning to make them harder. I want softer still

OK, you will need different shocks, or you need to get yours revalved .

Did you bleed the shocks first or just put them straight on.
If not you need to remove and fully extend and close a few times each
one, pain in the butt job but needs to be done.

They shouldn't need revalving, they've only done around 25,000 km. Yeah they were bled before installation. I'm pretty sure these shocks are working the way they're meant to! Just that I want a softer ride, that's all.

Thanks for that threedogs...I didnt know you had to do that...Is that with all shocks (tough-dog etc )..I would have just put them straight on...I have put new shocks straight on my dual cab..so maybe I should have bled them first ??

No Kabsoola...maybe people are away or working or not getting online or just had no knowledge of this like myself and I am supposed to be mechanically minded...I certainly learnt from the answers ...cheers
