The supplier told me that he "only gets a 1% failure rate". He made that sound minimal but but if they sell 100 units a month then that's 1 unhappy customer a month...... Seems way too high for me.....

Gday mate, I fitted a pertronix2 ignitor and a new coil. After 15 minutes if driving it would start cutting out badly. It would still drive but would break down spark very badly. Turns out my pertronix2 ignitor module was faulty from the start. I got test instructions from the manufacturer which I have posted in the manuals section of this forum under "other manuals", the thread is called pertronix test instructions.
Once I found that it was a faulty module, I got a replacement and it fixed the problem straight away.
