Turbo my RB30 or Drop a 355 Stroker in?
G'day, a guy I know through work wants to get rid of his 308 stroker 355 which apparently has a Holden vn head?
I don't know a lot about engines and that but I want something a little more than the rb30, what's your thoughts? He's asking for $3000 for it
Cheers for the replys
Ben

More power in that than a 350 cast iron chev, Price sounds ok for a stroker
There is an XR6 conversion in here somewhere

How would it go 4x4 wise on the tracks and that? It's carby aswell if that makes any difference. Also is there much I would have to change to get this in my patrol? Cheers

You'd need to run straight gas as 4 barrel carbs dont like hills or fit an EFI to it
Its a small V8 like the Chev it will look like it was made to go there

Think I might go for it, would it need a lot more parts to actually get it fitted to the Gq?

Look up the company Marks Adapters. They have a lot of adapter kits.

I reckon you will spend another 3k at last fitting it in mate. You will need to get it Engineeed.
You should seriously think about throwing a big dirty Turbo on the side of the RB 30 mate. It will Boogie big time mate and you will smile.
And you will spend 2k maybe!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I've read a lot about the vl conversions but never get a straight answer, are they any good
For out on the tracks getting through some tough stuff a bit? I just have this idea of it just being good as a rice Gq lol
