Done a little bit of tidying up of the new old girl today, plumbed in the snorkel, painted the snorkel, cleaned headlights, stitched the number plate to the grill. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352194326.756493.jpg

Okay, an update to the actual patrol this build is about. FINALLY got her back from having the clutch and head gasket replaced. Pulled out the heater core to see what's broken, wasn't too hard pulling out the dash and heater I reckon I had it out in under an hour. Found this split in the side of the tank ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352596386.768003.jpg
Going to have a crack melting it shut or some sort or resin if that doesn't work. If not I'll get a new core, if anyone has a good one sitting around I'll buy it!

I also picked up some new synthetic rope (12,000lb) and rope fairlead for my 9,500lb winch, just needs a new bigger clevis hook now to fit the end of the rope. I think my current hook has a 3/8 inch opening and I need a 1/2 inch. Sound right?

Ok so melting the plastic didn't work, I'll be looking for a new heater core now, I installed the new winch rope and got the clevis hook to fit. Moved the fairlead from the low to high position to allow the cable to roll off the spool easier. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352625253.898904.jpg
Because the rope was spooling off the top of the spool it was under more tension how it was before and was hard to pull off the spool how it was before. Here is a photo of how it used to feed out off the top of the spool and down out the fairlead.

Comes out a lot easier now, would this cause any problems with winching that i do not know about?

Just a better picture explaining of how it was before and after. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352626165.445477.jpg
You can see that before it came off the top and had to pull down and out to come off the spool, now it just comes off the top. I think it will put a lot less stress on everything and be easier to get off the spool. Any ideas as to if it's a good thing or a bad idea please let me know.

Brand new heater core should be here tomorrow arvo, brand new 35x12.5 GoodYear Wrangler MTR Kevlar tyres are here and paid for, 15x10 Procomp black steel rims ordered.
Just waiting for the bill for having the head gasket replaced, clutch installed, new low ratio diff gears, bearings, mechanical front locker, swivel kits, and whatever else I have had installed. Can't remember everything that has been done now lol

So... Heater core didn't show up, maybe tomorrow
But it did give me plenty of time to pull the patrol into even more bits :/ completely stripped inside, only things left are front seats. Carpets have been cleaned, rear seats cleaned, re wired all the speakers and sub, moved wires from running along the doors to the middle of the car as I plan on not running carpets for a while and wires were just going everywhere. Deleted some Un needed wires for the stereo from the previous owner, when it came time to do the front door speaker wires it was really hard passing the speaker cable through that grommet that holds all the other wires from the door to the body. Is there an easy way to do this?
