Low mount winch in a high mount winch bar
Hi guys,
This question has probably been asked a thousand times before, but can a low mount winch be bolted directly into a bar designed for a high mount?

99% absolutely mate. It's the other way round that can be a problem sometimes and needs a mod. You should have no trouble at all.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Sweet, I just picked up a FAT bar that's setup for a high mount, I was worried I was gonna have to modify the cradle to suit a low mount.

I can tell you that a high mount winch will not fit into a stock Nissan winch bar without making up an adapter plate to move the winch forward. As MudRunner says, the other way a round should be no problem.
