    The Safari thread

OK everyone, here's a thread dedicated to the Safaris. I don't have one but I really like their looks and functionality.

So if you've got some pics and stories about a Safari drop it in here. Below are some pics I recently took of a Safari fire pump.

I tried to get him to join the forum, but when I did my suspension I sold the OE parts on ebay, and a local bloke showed up to grab the original sway bar disconnect for the rear, and he was in a two tone (black and dark grey I think) safari with a few mods - looked bloody good. The high roofline would have to serve some purpose wouldn't it? Apart from just head clearance? Like easier installation of roof consoles etc?

I do likey likey I must admit!

Nice pic Doggy. Did you utilise the added headroom in any way? Would be interested to hear your first hand thoughts about them. What benefits do they have over the standard body?

I have a '84 Safari with a 2.8l straight 6, cant seem to find any workshop manuals on the vehicle anywhere, I am hoping that the manuals in the manuals section will help but I am un able to download them at the moment, so here is post #2 on my way to 25

Thats a nice lookin safari as long as you give her a good wash down after with fresh water and spray with lanosil before you should be right. There are also electronic devices as used by surf lifesaving that seem to work as well
