    6x6 GU Suspension Upgrades

    Hi all!

Have a 6x6 GU Wagon, body cut to dual cab ute and extra axle by 6x6 Australia. Running on airbags on the rear axles. My question is related to the ride which is quite rough compared to other coil wagons of same vintage I have driven. Where would I start with the suspension, is it worth looking at upgrades or is the rough ride simply the price for the 6x6's load capacity?

I think you will struggle to get the finesse of the coils with the airbags. The pressure spikes from compression and decompression can only be taken up by the elastic rubber and thats going to be limited to the construction of the bag for longevity. I am on maybe my 6th set of coils in the rear of my dual cab GQ and its still a work in progress. @MB had airbags under his Chev extra Cab GU and I didnt hear any concerns from him, was amazed at the ability to raise and lower it as the press of a button.

Keen to see some photos of your rig and set up.

Might be able to offer better opinions if you posted some photos.....
