Anyway, I back tracked thru the wiring and found I had the brake signal wires connected to the clutch disconnect switch, so removed that, and then spent the next hour trying to find a way to get a signal off the circuit. (There is a circuit to run that links both the clutch disconnect switch to the brake disconnect - its just that somehow the controller is able to distinguish between the two switches as it does not even work without the brake disconnect being in the circuit)
The wiring loom pigtail is short when disconnected from the brake pedal so I tried a couple of crazy jumper pigtails however the unit continues go into fault mode, specifically on the brake switch circuit. Its too tight that even an octopus could not reach the cables, so I bought one of the Tee Scotch lock sets last night and will see how that goes - its the type where the lock is crimped on the wire and the jacking wire comes off at right angles.
Re ran the actual actuator cable also to get it as 'long radius' as possible, so when I get a minute will see if I can resolve this first hurdle. Bloody hell this conversion has been so long n the tooth, will be glad if it ever ends!
