Appila Springs, Port Germein, Bridle Track

Well we had a weekend spare and decided it was time for a trip in the tent..
    Destination Appila Springs.

Looked at a few reviews, made sure fire season was done for that area, packed and went.
    What a spot!!
Even without rain it's lush due to the constant trickle from the natural underground springs.
We got there just after lunch so really had the pick of the spots which was lucky due to the bottom section really being limited to 1 or 2 sites due to unevenness.

Wind was a bit of a pain as it did swirl which made the smoke kiss everything lol.
But it dusk it dropped right off, and in come the wildlife.. The birds were super friendly..

Day 2 we ventured off the Port Germein through the gorgeous Germien Gourge to the lovely seaside town.
The longest wooden jetty in SA at over 1km, and a very cool boat launcher was on display.

After a great feed of hot chip from the Cafe we made tracks for the Bridle Track.
Unfortunately it's now essentially a 2wd road, but still breathtaking views and just simply amazing.

A second brilliant night was had around the fire.
Highly recommend if your in the area.

Great write up thanks mate. As a South Aussie myself this spot has always been on my radar but I always seem to bypass it on the way to the flinders. Will plan to stop for a night next time. Cheers!
