Yep - she has got it wrong again. Its not the airbags that determine if the belts are suitable - it's the pre tensioners that some vehicles have - and seatsafe don't sell. I think whatever paperwork they are using tells them that all Patrols have pre tensioners. Just tell her you want the same belts that the guy called Bill bought for his Patrol some years back. Others have said that and she remembered and they recieved the correct belts. Also, ensure you tell her if you have a ute or a wagon because they use slightly different belts. I have had mine for years now and they are still perfect. Not like the rubbish belts Nissan supply. And yes - my Patrol has driver and passenger airbags. @Scottwoolsey

I did my driver’s side seatbelt today, took the pin out and wound it tighter, washed and dried it and still doesn’t work as it should. The only thing that really helped was silicone spray on the belt.
With the retractor tightened the belt is simply too tight against my chest. I couldn’t drive it like this so I’ll loosen it off tomorrow and then follow Bill’s advice next week and buy new belts from that mob.

Winding up the retractor doesn’t work because it still gets slowed going through the top slot on the pillar. If you play with the webbing between that slot and the retractor it works really well. The coating on that top slot seems to create a lot of friction with the webbing and that’s why the silicone spray helps.
We’re in lockdown here for a few days but when that ends I’ll take a belt out and drive down to Seat Safe to show them what I need.
As Bill said, it’s clear they need to be replaced.

If you read through the posts here a number over the years discussed fixes for the belts. I tried them all and none of them worked successfully. If you do try to wind the mechanism the first items you need to buy are a couple of packets of bandaids - because you are going to do damage to your fingers!
Winding the retractor reel is actually quite easy once you get the pin out and pull the webbing away from it.
I just followed the ‘how to’ that @Cremulator posted earlier on and there’s absolutely no risk to fingers.. and my fingers are 76 years old

I’ve just ordered new front seat belts from Seat Safe. Part No 114-7554. They can supply the buckle receiver that bolts to seat with a kink in it like the original.
I asked why they don’t supply for wagon with airbags and it’s not because they think Patrols have pre tensioners but because they can’t supply the factory webbing that’s designed to let go a little when the crash force is such that the airbag deploys. I assume it will break the stitching or something so you get a slight delay before going into the airbag cushion.
I assured the lady that I wasn’t planning on letting the airbag deploy anytime soon..

Hmm - the story has changed - or the staff have. They fit and they work. Much safer than a Nissan belt that flops around and does not sit anywhere near where it should. Plus always getting caught in the door? No thanks.
Thought this might interest anyone who’s thinking about replacing the GU seatbelts. I changed the passenger side today and took a few pics.
I ordered the receiver with the bent leg but it’s bent the wrong way so order the straight one. I just put it in the vice and more or less flattened the first kink so it sits nicely away from the centre console.

They supply a bracket to bolt to the retractor and you just need to bend it to shape.

Once you get it bolted in place you need to fasten it so you can remove the bolt to put the plastic pillar cover over it. I just put a couple of short self tapping roof screws.

You’ll need to cut this loop off the old belt. It holds the webbing closer to the pillar. Cut it at the back and the belt can’t touch it.

It fits nicely under the factory height adjuster but you need to use a shorter bolt.
