I am he, fear me
OKA are back up and manufacturing again now (mainly as built to order) and will also "remanufacture" existing OKA's from the "old" company that went belly up.
The current ones are using a 4 cylinder Cummins mated to a 6 speed Allison box, Dana diffs.
GVM of 6.5 ton, 36 inch tyres stock
...but at $150,000 G's for a single cab-chassis there is a lot of competition in that price range
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Thanks Nic, Darren, yeah, the old saying 'a poor man pays twice' continues to resound in the garage at times as I have balked at buying the trade quality gear on the basis I won't use it past the immediate task, only to find its still in use 20 yrs down the track and i am still compromising the result or struggling with the execution simply because the stuff in hand is cheap and not up to the task. But on balance also, probably driven by immediate cash all those years ago as well, where as today totally different, just buy the better gear knowing its going to be used well into the future and take the ear bashing when the VISA card bill comes in!!!
What I specifically liked about this set is the adjustable clamp force, as they look like they are designed from a vice grip platform. I must have under-done and cut thru hundreds of electrical connections over the years due to incorrect clamping, hope this will take that score down lower.

Purchased one of these today. My journey with CTEK is about at an end. I find their gear lasts about 2 years then failes. I have gone thru at least 8 chargers so far, and the 5amp unit is running red hot just on a standard maintenance charge on N70 battery, and the 10amp unit is struggling on maintenance with the 400a/hr AGM setup, so will swap the 10amp to the N70, delegate the 5amp to a smaller SLA task and leave the Victron to do the heavy lifting - hope I have got it right - finally.

Interesting. I have a ctek thats about 8 years old and is still going strong. It use to charge the largest battery that CAT make fairly often as I used it for the fridge when camping so it hasn't had an easy life. Maybe they are made somewhere different now.

What I was told by the Australian agent when I had a CTEK 250S battery system expire, was that the electronic componentry has a shelf life, whether its used or not, so if a device is sold by a CTEK agent, it will not be more than 2 yrs old from date of manufacture. There are a lot of CTEK re-sellers out there, but try and get a warranty claim thru if it has not come from a CTEK agent - zero chance. I got caught as the vendor on ebay, who I have bought heaps from , was not a certified CTEK seller. When I delved into the detail with the CTEK Australia rep, my device was over 6 yrs old, yet i had only had it from new for 2 and a bit years. What the actual working life is for this gear was not disclosed. My vehicle batteries sit on maintenance charge year round, as I do a FIFO roster and trips are infrequent. Its a 'new unit' maybe 12 months old, but so hot I could barely pick it up. It was charging, but seemed to be stuck on the bulk charge phase, which really should be over and done in an hour, however sat there all night. Anyway, will see how the Victron gear goes, bigger all round, fingers crossed.
Bugger me, went out to the garage and the 10amp unit is playing up now, gone out on fault. Warm to touch, but not like the 5amp unit. Played around with the mode buttons and its reset itself. Might be the start of the end for that one as well.
